My wife and I arrived at Tacos Maria Bonita for a small bite. Our waitress, Nicolle was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and greeted us with an introduction of the different sauces they offered (as this was our first time). My wife and I asked for a few chips to try the sauces and had a small taste test. Without even starting our meal our stomachs were asking for more! We shared a medium rare hanger steak which was cooked to absolute perfection and accompanied with, no joke, the softest and fluffiest mashed potatoes I’ve ever had. Using the tortillas and our new knowledge of the sauces at our disposal, we created delectable small tacos and quickly found ourselves with no more steak, no more tortillas, and no more mashed potatoes. Don’t sleep on the amazing rice and beans either! Sure, it’s tough to mess up rice and beans, but it also takes absolute artistry to get them to taste so good that a Mexican and a Colombian are both pleased and asking for a second portion. Having finished with our meals but not with our appetites and craving something sweet to end our night, we ordered the pistachio crème brûlée and a small portion of ice cream. Wow. I’m a big fan of crème brûlée and the missus LOVES pistachio, so this was perfect for us both. The texture and lightness was a perfect pairing for the soft vanilla ice cream and the strawberries that adorned it. I was driving and she is pregnant so we regrettably were unable to try any of the cocktails, but the table adjacent to us were having what looked to be a refreshing Moscow mule and some leftover mimosa from the brunch which we will certainly be back to try soon. At the end the manager even came out and asked us about our experience, which is something that you can’t take for granted and is great to see from a new business who wants real feedback from customers. We will be back very soon and I trust that I’ll be greeted with the same amazing service, mouthwatering food, and perfect desserts. There’s a reason I only have pictures of...

I've been here twice.

The first time was for drinks.

The second time was for food.

If I were to review this place for my first visit, it'd be a lot higher in stars.

The atmosphere is friendly and nice. Their projector isn't properly aligned so it looks a bit funky on the wall. Bathroom doors always smell like paint. At night, they have a DJ to enhance the dining experience.

The servers are very friendly and nice. Customer service is not an issue in this establishment.

The food is not terrible, but it isn't great to warrant the prices.

$4.00 for a SINGULAR tiny taco. That's the main gripe for a TACO place. If the taco was fantastic I would not mind anything here. But the item itself is so tiny that you cannot enjoy it by itself or with any of the condiments.

I bought 4 tacos, had an appetizer (chips and guac!), one alcoholic drink and one horchata (non-alcoholic).

My bill was $68.51. Why? Because they include a 18% gratuity for "parties of 1 or larger" AUTOMATICALLY.

How is charging an auto 18% gratuity for TWO...

as someone who has lived in NYC for over 20 years’ I highly recommend this spot I been to many restaurants before and this is literally one of my favorites Food was amazing , I enjoyed their Sirloin tacos ‘ served with a tray of various sauces to pick from their drinks are really great as well , I love their Mezcalita ‘ it was delicious and strong for my Mezcal drinkers prices are affordable and honestly worth every penny Employees there are awesome and its one of the main reasons I keep coming back because as I mentioned before I been around NYC and other places aren’t really as genuine for my sport lovers who like to watch sports they have several tv’s to enjoy watching your team while dinning my server/ bartender was Alejandra make sure to stop by, you’ll enjoy...

I live in Manhattan and met some friends for food/drinks. I hadn’t been here in over a year and it must be under new management bc the menu was different, there were limited cocktails, and no happy hour. We asked for water and waitress bought an overpriced Smart water bottle and refused to give us tap water. Food was average and the chips (with guacamole) were stale. There was an 18% automatic service charge included and sneaky waitress still hands you the POS machine asking for gratuity. Far stretch including the tip even for a party of one (see below) for an average taco place in Queens. Knicks were also down the whole time there and started winning when we left and went to Honey Fitz a couple of blocks over. Will absolutely not be returning.
