STOLE FROM ME!!! ā¦Charged $37 TIP(!!!!) for the one $6 piece of banana bread pudding I purchasedā¦and I actually left a cash tip!
First I had to wait a week to eventually catch up with apparently the one person that could help me. Manager didnāt even apologize to me about the incident. On top of that, he wanted to make it as inconvenient as possible for me to get my refund. He initially told me I needed to return in person with the card to get my refund. Had to explain to him that it would take too long for me to physically return. He didnāt even as if I lived in NY. Eventually he conceded that he could actually do the refund over the phone. You would think he would have refunded the entire amount but despite the inconvenience and the fact that they could have overdrawn my account, he refunded only the $37.45 tip that had been added and charged me for the pudding. After all was said and done, I asked why my card had been charged so much in the first places and he informed me that an employee had written in the extra amount as a TIP and that he would have a talk with them! He wasnāt even going to tell me what happened. To boot, I was beyond disappointed in the bread pudding. I used to love this place but Iāve been disappointed in the last few things I tried. I definitely wonāt be returning after this incident thoughā¦.update; they replied saying they wanted me to come in to give me something free. They could have told me that but I was literally told I needed to come in with the original card in order to get my refund and this definitely wasnāt handled quickly. I called twice and was told I could only speak to one person. No one took a message to have manager call me back. I was told that I had to call back myself, and only after 3:00. Because of my job it took a week for me to finally catch the āonlyā person that could help me. Experience was bad enough but lying about what happened makes is so much worse. I know what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love Mias, usually I order cakes for any occasion and the experience is pleasant. Today I went in to pick up a cake I ordered and was very unsatisfied. I ordered a cake pick up time 4:30, arrived well after 430 and still had to wait a significant amount of time for the cake to come to the front of the store. The area at the front of the store doesn't accommodate the traffic and people such as myself who have to stand and wait as we try to shuffle around and not be in the way and make room for others. The young man who handled my cake closed the box without me viewing it, this never happens. I asked to see the cake and the lady standing at the register had to prompt him to let me see it. As I watched his face as she spoke to him he appeared uncomfortable. When he opened the box the the top of the cake was messed up, as was the frosting around the cake which was visible on box. Now in the agreement when ordering a cake online if you leave and the cake is damaged it is not the responsibility of the business. A young lady who was helping and greeting on the side assisted and said they could take it to the back and fix it. Clearly another cake... A SMALLER cake was brought to the front which again the young man tried to box without my viewing. When asked to view the cake this time the attitude was apparent in his face. The appearance was fine the size was not, however the cake was already written on. and in the essence of time I couldn't wait another 30 minutes for them to correct the issue. However I want to say, I NOTICED!!! Mias cakes are well made hands down. Understandably they are not cheap so as a paying customer the services shouldn't seem as one is being bothered when myself or anyone asks to see what they are paying for. I ALWAYS recommend them when someone is looking for a place to purchase a cake and get good comments about the cakes, this time I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI initially wasnāt going to write a review but as I think more about my experience at Miaās bakery In Brooklyn located on smith, I canāt help but to write this thorough review. Basically I ordered a Oreo cheesecake 2 days in advance for Jan 2nd 2022 and paid half deposit for the cake. I was asked what time would be the earliest to pick up and I said 12pm on Jan 2nd. I arrived at 5:30pm on January 2nd only to wait 20+ minutes for a cake that did not have what I asked for. When I arrived I paid the other half of my deposit and was told that my cake will be out shortly. 15 minutes went buy and a cashier brings a Oreo cheesecake with the worst piping on it that didnāt even say what I asked for. She ask āis this okayā I said āno thatās not even what I asked forā. She said sorry and left me standing for a while. At this point I was frustrated because the cake was for my boyfriendās birthday. I proceeded to talk to a āmanagerā named Alex and he tried to help. I asked for a discount because I asked and paid for a Oreo cheesecake with White icing writing to go with the cake and not only was that not what I received, I was never once contacted about any issues about the cake. I had to watch the so called manager struggle to issue a gift card and he took so long (maybe 10 minutes on top of me waiting 30 minutes) that I told him forget about the discount. Also he said they donāt do refunds in the store⦠you have to send an email. I would have gotten my money back and went to Marthaās but Instead I had no choice but to leave with a cake I didnāt like. They told me blue icing was all they had left AFTER I PAID. Also when I asked why I wasnāt contacted if they knew my cake would not have what I asked for I was told ā well what most likely happened was the kitchen staff didnāt get a chance to work...
