The manager did a beautiful job with my nails, but I was definitely overcharged. She was willing to fix my nails when I wasn’t satisfied with a previous nail shop’s service. Initially, she offered to do it for $124. As the service went on, she continued to change & increase the price. I noticed she kept talking to her co-workers about raising the amount. She said with GelX it would be $130, then said with the acrylic it would be $150. Which I thought was a bit much, so I stuck to the $130 price. As the service continued, she then told me for a specific add-on (glitter) it would be an additional $30. I rejected. I ended up leaving the nail shop almost paying half of $200 for simple French Tip nails. She charged me an amount that I didn’t agree to. After paying I left, then they called me over the phone several times telling me that I needed to leave them a tip. I usually leave tips, but I was being ripped off. So, I definitely won’t be going back! UPDATE: On their site, the listed price for GELX is $95! Even with a soak off & French Tip design, they still overcharged me. The manager knew beforehand what services would’ve been done which I thought was already included with the fixed price. And yet, the shop took advantage of me since I was a new customer & not being aware of their prices! I will be disputing the charge with my bank.

I was really excited to get my nails done at Mochi. I went in for an acrylic soak off and hopefully a cat eye to my natural short nails. However during the “soak off” my tech painfully pried them off with a metro card and took part of my natural nail off, leaving it sticking out with flesh underneath. It hurts and gets caught on things. I understand my natural nail was thin, but this simply wouldn’t happen if you actually soak them off in acetone all the way, rather than yank them off the natural nail. Nobody should have to pay $25 for an injury. And they didn’t even give me the cat eye! After requesting they stop and leave my nails bare post injury multiple times they just put on sparkly red gel anyway? Avoid, avoid, avoid! I’m happy others had positive experiences, but don’t go in for a soak off. They don’t do the procedure as offered (the soaking part) and you will get hurt if your nails are too thin. Edit: it fell off and is showing my bloody nail bed under.

Came in to redeem a gift card ($35) I received for my birthday in April of 2022. There was an expiration date of April 2023 handwritten on the card but I hoped they would make an exception as New York State law states that gift cards and gift certificates “Cannot Expire Within Nine Years, Will Not Decline in Value Because of Fees, and May Be Redeemed for Cash if The Remaining Value is Less Than $5.” That rule is dated December 10, 2022. Prior to that, expiration date on gift cards and certificates was to be no less than 5 years. It’s not a big sum of money, but it’s money that has already been paid and no service was rendered. I usually really like coming to Mochi Nail, but this has definitely left me with a bad impression of the business. They got my $35 and I got…nada.

Used to come here for years, as well as occasionally bring my mom and my sister. Not anymore. They lost me as a loyal customer after an extremely bad and frustrating experience, and did so little to fix the situation. I booked a 6:00 pm appointment for my mom (reg mani/pedi) and me (gel mani/reg pedi) back in November. Let’s begin with the fact that the person who was doing my nails right of the bat had an off-putting attitude, was rude and short tempered. I tried to ignore that, idk maybe she had a bad day. Anyway, we both finished getting pedicures and moved to the mani stations. I didn’t have nail polish on my nails, so expected to move on fairly quickly with gel manicure. However, something was off and after finishing one hand and drying it, it came off all wrinkly. The master scraped of the gel and proceeded doing that entire hand again (two layers of polish) just to have the same thing happen again. It was drying all wrinkly. At that point my mom already finished her mani and moved on to the drying station. And I was sitting with my bare foot (toenails already dried) but because I was dealing with this nonsense and my hands were busy I couldn’t even put the shoes on. I had a meeting scheduled for 7:30, that I had to move, because now my mani/pedi was taking too long. Honestly at some point I wanted to give up, but I had an early flight the next day and just really wanted to have nice manicure on my vacation. No one offered me a drink (hot tea would be so nice- it was chilly in the salon). Anyway… Finally they figured out that the polish they were using was the problem- too old or something and I had to go through this whole experience again! (My poor left hand had to go through the led lamp three times!) Meanwhile, they completely forgot about my poor mom, who was still sitting there at the drying station and didn’t even help her with putting the shoes on. Sigh! I ended up spending at the salon nearly three hours (for a simple pedi and gel mani (no gel removal). My nails were all sticky and bumpy, but I just couldn’t bare any more time at the salon. My moms nails were not neat and unevenly covered with polish (I could have done a better job tbh). I was so upset, exhausted, cold, and hungry. They offered me 5% off for the inconvenience caused. Lol. I didn’t argue with them, I just wanted to get out of there and never come back. I was very disappointed with the way they handled the situation, the lack of empathy, and care about the comfort of their clients. The nail master wasn’t apologetic at all, more like relieved that this wrinkly gel debacle was over. When she was finishing up the second hand, she was telling me how CND is not a good brand and such thing often happens to polishes of this brand. How does this information help me now? If she made the right decision right away and looked for the new polish, we wouldn’t be there. So unprofessional. I even didn’t know how to reply when she told me that. I really felt down, because I, as I said was a loyal customer who used to go there for years. Now, I’m onto finding a new place where hopefully my business and my loyalty will be more...

Usually I am not one to leave a review but today is a must. I frequently visit this place at least once a month and for the most part the service has been great. Today was not one of those great days, I walked in for my 10 am appointment and the front desk rep decided to just give me off to someone new I’ve never seen before which was strange because as I stated I’ve been here many times with my wife as well. I am not sure if it’s because I’m a man she felt the need to just hand me off to anyone because I was getting a basic pedicure. I spend my hard earned money here like anyone else and I expect great service in return. Today was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at this place and I am not quite sure I will ever return again. I’m not a pedicure expert but the service today was rushed, sloppy and just awful complete waste of my time and money my feet wasn’t even completely dry when I left that’s how terrible it was. Treat every customer fairly and with respect not just because of their race/ethnicity or gender. Very...
