This is a new Indian restaurant in Bay Ridge. I came here with group of 6 for a friends birthday. This was a pleasant surprise. I am used to going to Edison NJ for Indian food. But now things going to change. This spot was so good that we actually asked to meet the chef and gave him a round of applause! None of us had any complains about the food. Also this spot is BYOB. So we did bring in a bottle, and the server brought out ice and glasses for us. The manager (Nish) was very accommodating and the server was friendly. We had ordered a mixed grill, and the salmon piece accidently fell into a cup of drinking water as I was trying pass it to a friend. The manager saw this, we all laughed and he had the chef make an other piece of salmon and bring it to the table. By the time he had brought that out, we fished out the piece of salmon from the cup and ate that too. Over all we legit enjoyed the food and cant wait to go back. Have you ever had food and missed someone you loved? Lol so ya, I did. My wife didn’t come out to the birthday dinner because she was watching the kids. And I felt bad that she didn’t get to enjoy the food with us. I’ll be soon going back to this spot with my wife and kids. One thing to keep in mind is the spice level, If you ask them to make something spicy, it will be SPICY, SPICY. Which we didn’t mind at all.
These are the things we ordered-
-Bhel Puri – It tasted great, It could been a bit crispier.. Would order again -Non Veg Combination Plater – Also tasted great. Would order again. -Bhartha - Roasted eggplant curry, I personally thought I was just ok, but the person that ordered it said she enjoyed it. I am not a vegetable person, so.. -Chicken Tikka Masala – This one also, I am never a fan of this, but the guys that ordered it, enjoyed it. And they said they will get it again. -Crab curry – Loved the flavor, I was expecting actual full crab curry. This was actually crab meat curry(Real crab, not imitation crab). Will order it again. -Chicken biryani – Tasted good. Will get it again -Lamb biryani – Tasted great. Will get it again. I will probably get Lamb one over chicken biriyani though. -Lamb Rogan Josh – This was amazing! Just as I type I am getting hungry thinking about it. -Chicken 65 dry – I don’t think this is in the menu, we asked them to make it and they did. It was good as well. Garlic Naan - This was the best naan we had in a long time. It crispier than the ones we get at Edison. Tasted great. -Side of basmati rice – Even the plain rice tasted good lol.
We had leftovers which they provided boxes and we packed it to go. Prices seem fare for the area. Over all we all enjoyed the spot and will...
Read moreI was referred to Mint Bay from one of my FaceBook parent groups and decided this would be such a great change of pace for a day-date with the hubby during our holiday season vacation. Honestly, there isn't a good Indian restaurant yet in Bay Ridge, and I hope Mint Bay is here to stay!
We came in and were seated right away in the sun-drenched table we had been ushered to, and quickly went to work on deciding what to order. I needed mango lassi right outta the gate, and had my heart set on saag paneer, while hubby wanted his tried and true - chicken tikka masala. We each got separate orders of naan - onion for me, and garlic for him - and our orders each came with rice, which was nice. There seemed to be a few take out orders being picked up, so the kitchen was busy in the afternoon. The staff were all very nice and friendly.
The lunch did not disappoint! The saag paneer had just the right amount of heat spice that made me enjoy every savory mouthful and the chicken tikka masala sauce was the most beautiful color I've ever seen! The portions were very decent, and the naan was well worth the wait for! If I wasn't so stuffed, we would've looked at the dessert menu, but didn't even cross our minds as to how satisfied we were.
Can't wait to...
