If you are brand new to Greek food, this is a fine, okay spot to start. If you’re expecting authentic, keep searching. The pros up front: the staff was friendly and the place was very clean. Felt covid safe. We decided to come here as it was close to an appointment and I’d remembered it from a viral FB video a few years ago spotlighting their mile high pastitsio. Our first disappointment (my fault for not checking) was finding out they only serve that on Friday nights. When we arrived and ordered, I immediately knew we were in for a wild ride. Not a single staff member was Greek and the radio in the restaurant was all Spanish. No bouzoukia here :/ When I ordered a gyro and spanakopita, the cashier repeated it back to me “gy-ro” and “spinach pie” 😑 The spanakopita was served ice cold. When I took it back to the front, they were polite but literally just reheated the same piece. When it was returned back, it was barely luke warm. We ate it because at that point we were starving and weren’t willing to keep having the same piece of food microwaved to death. For $8.95 it could and should have been much better. I ordered the beef/lamb gyro platter and upgraded to Greek fries. My husband got the pork gyro platter with rice. The pita and tzatziki served with the platters were good. The rice was good. The salad served with the platters was good, and came with a surprise dolma. The gyro meat on both plates were once again luke warm. I’m not sure how this is possible since the spit is visibly turning against heat. The flavor and texture was.. okay. I cannot see us returning here, ever. It was completely lackluster and honestly the pictures of Santorini in the bathroom felt more Greek than the food did. Was it bad? No. Was it good overall? Also no. What a bummer.

Somethingreek is something you should try if you ever drive down to Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. From the moment you walk in the first thing you will notice is the beautiful interior decor of the restaurant. From the walls to the ceiling and the arrangement of the tables. One of the main reasons I wanted to go in was because of course I wanted to try the food but because I like the interior design of the restaurant. This is the perfect spot to take good pics of your food with a nice background. You can say this spot is IG ready. However the food isn't the healthiest food around Bay Ridge. I wouldn't say the food was exceptional. I wasn't impressed with the food, it was average. The service wasn't amazing and that was a bit of a let down. Parking wasn't great. But there's meter parking available. I would still recommend the restaurant but I probably wouldn't go back anytime soon. Overall Somethingreek is just another average restaurant with a lot of potential.

The Greek restaurant is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. They have an additional location at 7724 13th Avenue in Brooklyn. I ordered the avgolemono soup which consisted of chicken and rice in lemon and egg broth. The soup was not thick and had little chicken. The spanakopita is a spinach pie with feta cheese and herbs baked in a phyllo dough. It was a nice size and tasty. The keftedakia are hand-rolled Greek-style meatballs. The order had 10 mini-meatballs that were the size of a child's marble. The Greek-style pork gyro platter has a choice of French fries or rice, a small house salad, pita bread and tzatziki. I chose French fries but the order had rice. Friendly staff and quick service.

We ordered a variety of entrees, skewers and apps from here since we were hosting a group of close friends and relatives at our home. We love Greek food so we patronize many other Greek restaurants both in Bay Ridge and Bensonhurst area as well as Dyker heights. We know in depth pros and cons of each individual restaurant so we know what to get from a particular restaurant and then there is a couple that really stand out and do everything exceptionally. However this is one restaurant that people must stay away from and i would never ever recommend this restaurant to my loved ones, friends or even my worst enemies. Shockingly everything arrived cold. It is not the end of the world or so we thought that just heating them up in the oven and air fryer would do the trick to take of people who were starving and we hadn't ordered much else besides food from this restaurant. When we took our first bites we knew right away there was no chance of coming back from this disaster as food had no flavor. Meat were tough as leather and some of condiments tasted very stale. Tzatzikis were very watery and had no garnishes on it either which shows their lack of passion and love for what they serve to people because this is something they would whip up in massive batch and should really take care as it goes out to every single customer no matter what customers order from this restaurant. I hate to post a negative review as small businesses need to be thriving but many issues have to be resolved before they take our hard earned money and serve us worse than mediocre food. Please put yourselves in our shoes and think about whether you would serve this quality of food to your loved ones. Thank you all...
