Pathetic. Worst experience. My recent visit ( husband wife and our 70 yr old mother) to cebrate our anniversary in this restaurant was marred by a series of disappointments. Despite highlighting our anniversary in our reservation notes, the staff failed to acknowledge the occasion or assist with seating as requested. We endured a lengthy wait, followed by an underwhelming culinary experienceâwe ordered generously as we do in other five stars. The soups were off-flavored, and was unusual, taste was bitter but we didnt want to create any fuss and thought may be its just out of chance. We also ordered potato croquettes, cheese burrata and few other things. Everything was just mediocre taste nothing out of the world as they were charging. We spent around $300
Despite our efforts to communicate our celebration, the staff's obliviousness persisted until we had to explicitly ask for something to mark our anniversary. Eventually, they offered a pice of chocolate cake that was chargeable more than what I can buy a full cake for and a complimentary orange cheesecake. The taste of chocolate cake was not good at all. The staff gestures couldn't make up for the overall poor service and experience.
Our distress continued as we had to pull over on the way home, Regrettably, three of us fell severely ill, vomiting and stomach pain on our way back. We had to pull in the emergebcy lane to vomit and had to spend around 1 hour to lie in the car due to the severe upset stomachs and gain strength to drive back. After seeking medical advice, our doctor confirmed that it was indeed food poisoning to all three of us. Such an expensive restaurant and thats what they serve. I will never return to this restaurant and want to let everyone know to be aware of your health as these guys wonât care about u. Our supposed to be wonderful celebration ended with major food poisoning and health hazard. The disregard for customer experience, coupled with the major food poisoning aftermath, should be known to everyone before anyone decides to spend even a penny in this restaurant...
Read moreI want to preface that my girlfriend and I had a wonderful time here. We went for only the afternoon tea with Champaign and one coffee. Views are amazing, as were the desserts. I think it's a great place for a date. But we had three main issues that, normally, wouldn't matter. But considering the bill was over 400$; the small details matter.
Firstly while all the workers were nice, our server did not go through the short list of teas with us. They have a unique selection so I feel at least a quick run through would have been helpful.
The Champaign came before anything else and one of the glasses had red jam of sorts on the bottom and water stains on the rim. No compensation for giving us such an obviously dirty glass.
Lastly the plates that all the small plates were extremely scratched. And I don't mean a few scratches. They were clearly dinner service plates that were very well used. It made for a very unsightly presentation.
If I had to say a negative in the food - the pistachio creampuff was overfilled. So much cream, too little puff. And the black truffle egg had a bit too much truffle taste.
Our seat was also in a corner where our view was of a building, rather than the park. That was disappointing.
Everything tasted great, the seats were comfy, and server was attentive, but only after we showed them the dirty glass.
If the experience were cheaper I wouldn't care about any of these issues. But at the price I paid I feel that the MO Lounge doesn't fully meet the expectation I had for it.
Also - we marked the occasion as a birthday (the page specifically asks if it's a birthday) in our reservation but did not receive any acknowledgement at all about it being my girlfriends birthday. Again normally I wouldn't mind, but at the price point and the fact that their page ask, I did expect something special for the occasion.
Great for tourist and great for a date, but I don't see a need to visit again.
I do want to thank the manager - he replaced our glass and offered to take photos of us as well. He seemed to...
Read moreI was excited to come here for a friendâs birthday but it turned out to be more of a pay-for-the-view kind of place, which there are plenty more options of around the city.
Upon arrival, impressions were overall good from the hostess, then things went south. I wouldâve imagined impeccable service and attention to detail as aligned with other upscale restaurants but was sorely disappointed.
There is no communication between staff. Twice, two separate employees asked if we wanted champagne after we had already declined. The server had to wipe down our table again as there were visible specks of food from a previous diner.
We were not provided or asked if we wanted water. We had to flag someone down after receiving tea to request a bottle, even though we were the first customers there and it wasnât busy yet. Not once did the anyone refill our water for us. They had also forgotten one set of the sweet items, which they brought out separately after bringing the tiered tray. Also had to flag someone down to ask for a coffee to end the meal. And then again for the check. The one highlight I appreciated was the approach to food allergies, where the server offered to check with the kitchen if the microgreen on a sandwhich was related to my allergy.
The clotted cream was a disappointment but the scones were decent. The savory portion was also acceptable, with the truffle sandwich being too garlicky and the lobster bite tasting⊠not like lobster but a sea of mayo.
All the sweets were much too sweet and we werenât able to finish them.
Although an 18% auto gratuity is included, I wouldâve asked for a custom amount (which you can do, by the way, if you are also dissatisfied with the service) but we were celebrating a birthday and I didnât want to leave my friend with unpleasant memories.
I would come back for a drink and the view but would be highly hesitant to try the food paired with the lacking service.
TL;DR: skip the afternoon tea unless itâs for the gram. Pay for the view. Service leaves much...
