Ohayo Bread House is my go-to spot for quick lunch in 8 Avenue, Brooklyn. This is where you can get a filling meal for less than $3.
They have more than 25 flavors of riceballs according to my observation, including spam musubi. On the other side, they display freshly baked bread and egg tarts. They also have a full menu of drinks.
*Butter Chicken Onigiri $2.75 Their onigiri is large and dense, but of course it has way more rice than filling at this price point. I have been eyeing their butter chicken onigiri for a while, and it turned out to be my favorite. The sauce was flavorful. Although there wasn’t a lot of shredded chicken, it was enough to eat with the rice till my last bite.
*Purple Rice Crab Salad Onigiri $2.75 *Octopus Salad Onigiri $2.75 The purple rice onigiri was still warm when I got it! The texture of purple rice was nice but the amount of crab salad was underwhelming, so as the octopus salad one.
*Cranberry Cream Cheese Bun $2.75 They had a lot of baked goods that interested me, like coconut coffee roll, dragonfruit mochi bun and black sesame chestnut roll (sold out when i visited). I got my hands on their cranberry cream cheese bun. The bread size was bigger than my palm. Such a shame that there was only less than 10% filling but it was still a good price afterall.

Read moreI’ve been a regular customer here, usually ordering onigiri, and everything has been fine until I tried the eel onigiri. It came with barely any filling, which was a bit disappointing, but I didn’t think too much of it at first. Then I went in to order two drinks for a friend. The lady who served me was visibly annoyed, even though I ordered right away and didn’t take long at all. I asked for two drinks, and she only gave me one. When I clarified and asked for the second one and she seemed irritated with my request. The situation got even worse when my friend and her group of three others went in a week later to order drinks. They experienced the same poor service and mistakes. One of the drinks was a strawberry passion fruit, but it tasted like sour milk. When they asked for a remake, the staff just added granulated sugar, which made it...
Read moreSorry left the bakery this morning without a damn Danish. There's no customer early in the morning but another woman and me . So I queue up on the line waiting for the old lady cashier for 5 minutes without rushing her but when she came back I hand her my $5 to pay for my Cheese Danish and she end up giving back my money and told me the lady behind me came first but she was there choosing her bread the whole time. So what's the point not just take my money and give my change and let me go. I was rushing to go to work anyway. Instead she hand me my money and ask me to wait and insisted the lady came first (still busy choosing the bread ) . The owner should take action on this lady or else you will losing more customer . Go somewhere else there's so many good bakery around like 1988 bakery , tous le jous and...
