Kim’s Corndog has delicious corndogs to eat, but it is best eaten on the spot for best taste. I took it out to eat at home hoping it was still hot. It wasn’t, but warm and I made my choice to take it out. As of today of this review, the floor is very dirty with part of the wall the dirty as well and the bottom of the drink machines were dirty with something sticking and building up onto it. It is not a place you would feel safe or comfortable to eat at especially there being no seats to help dine in with the wall tables. There was a tissue dispenser, but it was empty when I tried to get one. Decors were personally boring, and it felt like it was a fast-food restaurant to me, but I didn’t really care as I wanted a corndog. I also saw part of the table close to the cashier was bent as if some heavy object was there for hours. The place was pretty warm that I felt like I was sweating in there. Not that it’s a problem cause it's still winter. They also take card payments if you were thinking about quick payment too. As for the corndogs and stated before, it was delicious! Yummy and good if you love corndogs and nothing else. However, I have not eaten all corndogs such as the Crispy or crunchy or non-crunchy ramen. Only took a bite from the Spicy lover from a sibling. They were pretty meh and okay if you had high expectations to how they tasted. Just a good old big Korean corndog. Also, it’s best you don’t order it by delivery if you don’t have an air fryer or time to really try it for best taste to fill your stomach. It’s best eaten hot or warm at least. However, the drinks tasted like they were store bought powdered drinks for such an individual price tag. Also, don’t put the drinks in the bag otherwise it would spill every time you swing your arms with it and make the bag and contents inside wet and soggy (their Bags cost $0.50). Best carried by hand instead and no.. they sadly don’t have multi-cup holders like McDonald to help with that inconvenience. They were trying to help with that though by taping the lids shut one time, but still didn't work as the lids weren't tight enough. The sides were overall okay. Though, I think the Tteokbokki was bad. Just a filler to fill your tummy and had no real taste as it was pasta with just the spice taking over majority of my taste buds. Side note, I ate the Tteokbokki cold because I was full of two corndogs before I could try to eat it warm still. Kimbaps? Didn’t try Tuna version, but the Sausage was good simply a nice side good to have. Lastly, fries were just fries. Nothing special except they cost so much for how little. Customer service was good and fast. Didn’t try to have a chat with the cashier at all was craving for a corndog. Though the wait time for corndogs and the sides for your combo(s)? It may take at least or over 10 minutes for two combos of which I did ordered today. Finally, the price tags on the menu felt like it was absurd for their quality, taste and time taken to wait. It feels more like…. Meh okay… I’ll pay for it cause I’m hungry/craving for a corndog. Not worth ordering the items on the menu individually especially the fries! Unless you want an extra. Best you get the combos. Also, if you see the poster saying free corndog after $20 holiday special, it is no longer up as of today. Tried to get it, but they told me it passed now. The last day of the special I believe was last week on Friday. Overall, the place was mediocre. Not worth for its individual corndog price. Also, they make you pay taxes and the extra bag fee adds to the taxable total (bag is also taxed). 8.875% Tax. P.S if you are working in a hospital, law enforcement, or as a first responder you get a 15% discount! It is a daily promotion for you all hard working and good people. Though you must have your ID on yourself to prove you are one. 2 stars because of how dirty the floors were and the drink machine’s exterior being dirty. Would...
Read moreI've ordered from here a couple times, and it pales in comparison to Oh K-Dog and Two Hands (the latter is my favorite), but it's the only option available nearby in Brooklyn, so what can you do when you're craving a K-Dog?
I would say that the K-Dogs here are probably their best menu item, everything else is not recommended because they're not up to par at all.
Out of the different K-Dogs, the Spice Lover is the best, followed by Kim's Classic and Crazy Potato. The Crunchy Ramen one was weird and I haven't tried the sweet K-Dogs because I've found I like savory ones more, from my K-Dog eating experience. I liked the cheese filling, but the sausage is definitely not as juicy as the top tier K-Dogs from Manhattan. Overall, on average, 3/5.
The kimbap was bland, the rice type is wrong, the filling was bleh and fell out everywhere, and there's no flavor from the sauce either. Avoid this. 1/5
The tteokkbokki, also super bland. The portion size is good but I found myself not wanting to eat more, because it's just flavorless sticky rice cakes in red-colored water. Don't recommend at all. 1/5
The fries are decent, the flavoring is a bit weak but I love waffle fries, and they pair well with the K-Dogs. They're the right texture and the portion is alright, but they could have been a bit more generous with it, in my opinion. 3/5
The lemonade is awful and is basically sour water, but I got this because of the combo option, which makes the meal more worth it, compared to ordering a la carte. Perhaps I'll try the iced tea next time, but I doubt it'll be much better. 2/5
All in all, a decent substitute if craving K-Dogs in Brooklyn. I hope they'll either make some changes to their menu, or a competitor crops up soon to help people with their...
Read moreWe dropped by before 2pm on a weekday and it wasn’t busy at all. There were no other customers in the store at the time. Our order consisted of a lunch combo (potato corn dog with mozzarella + waffle fries, $8.49), a potato corn dog with half sausage half mozzarella ($5.99) and sweet potato fries (5.49).
It took approximately 15 minutes for us to get our order. Corn dogs and fries were still warm and crispy and the size of the corn dogs were pretty big (generously coated with potatoes). You can choose any sauces you want, but they only give you a light drizzle on top. My half sausage half mozzarella corn dogs was a disappointment. It was hollow where the mozzarella cheese was supposed to be and while you do get a cheese pull, it was barely there. You could see the sausage right away after your first bite into the corn dogs and that says a lot. And for my sister who ordered the fully mozzarella cheese corn dog, it was an even bigger disappointment since it was hollow throughout…her corn dog kept sliding around on the stick because there was nothing holding it there. Felt like we were mostly paying for the corn dog breading.
Both their sweet potato fries and waffle fries were decent. (reasonable portion and price). However, I personally prefer sweet potato fries over regular fries which is why we didn’t end up with two lunch combos. Their lunch combo is fixed and comes with their waffle fries. I would have gladly paid extra if I had the option to change it to sweet...
