Olives and Pita is a great neighborhood Greek restaurant. The restaurant is small, about ten tables, and the decor is simple. It's a family-owned business, and the owner's care about their service and food. Service was impeccable and everything was served with a smile. Why this Greek restaurant as opposed to others in Bay Ridge? What you come for is, of course, is the food.
This is a second generation food restaurant - I will always remember George and his food in my fond memories, especially the roasted pig every year. This is his son's restaurant, and I'm happy to say, he keeps the amazing tradition of quality, authentic, delicious Greek food. Portion sizes on the food are very generous and the prices are very low. The tomato salad, is amazing, a full plate of sliced tomatoes, red onions loaded with feta and olive oil. Their olive oil is the best I've ever tasted - compared to many restaurants, including Greek and Italian. The stuffed grape leaves were amazing, lemony and with a bit of kick- what a nice surprise that it wasn't bland. The gyro meat is the best - just the right combination of spices and the texture is just perfect. Also, the BEST tzatziki sauce, nice and thick, unlike many other places. Coming to Olives and Pita, you can be assured of a delicious, satisfying meal that will be within your...
Read moreWe have came here few times, and let me tell you, this is the best Greek restaurant in New York!! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a smile. The waitress was extremely nice, attentive, and with a smile the whole time we were there. She gave my baby some crayons and paper so he can draw while his food came out. She also brought out his chicken and fries out first. The first thing I tried was the fries, Omg, the fries were so delicious. It looks like they hand cut the fries themselves. I ordered a Greek salad with their famous chicken and my father had the Greek salad with gyro meat in the side. The food is delicious, mouth watering, and the most delicious Greek food you will find!! We also ordered the spinach pie as a appetizer, and it was delicious as well. The service was amazing, the food is mouth watering delicious and it’s well priced. We actually come all the way from Staten Island to Brooklyn to eat here, and it’s always worth the travel. We usually find parking...

I got the "chicken gyro platter," a plate of oil with vertical-spit chicken pieces on one half and starch on the other. (It's $13 with fries, baked potato or rice; I opted for lemon potatoes for an extra $3.) The server had asked if I wanted to have the grander option with a salad, which I declined as I didn't realize that was the only way to get something on the plate besides the chicken and potatoes (and four triangles of pita and some tzatziki sauce).
The music was auto-tune-vocalist pop, the kind with repetitive drum-machine accompaniment, and the room doesn't seem to dampen sound at all.
If your blood pressure is susceptible to excess salt intake, I'd suggest having your cardiologist on speed dial before ordering what I had.
I'm sure the other things on the menu would have...
