This was such an amazing experience. As a vegetarian I didn’t think it would be possible to ever do an omakase tasting but Omakaseed definitely made that possible.
Ambiance: they have a beautiful set up. Every detail has been thought of including the dishware they serve each course in. The restaurant is small and intimate. You are sitting around a half oval table and there are no more than 12 to 14 diners at a time. You get to watch your chef make each of your dishes and they give you a detailed explanation before they serve it to you.
Food: Every course got better and better as the night progressed. My favorite was the crispy tofu with stuffing inside. The tofu was perfectly salted and crispy and I loved the flavors inside. Each dish was carefully crafted and all the flavors complemented each other so nicely. It was also textured perfectly. Chef Cam was amazing and you could clearly see the passion he has for the food he makes. He puts a lot of thought into crafting the dishes and told us that they have a new menu every season to match the fresh vegetables available during that time.
Service: service was great. They checked in on us often and seated us promptly.
Price: considering the full experience and the amount of food, I would say this is a fair price.
I highly recommend coming and eating here. It was such a memorable experience.

Read moreHorrific experience today with host at omakaseed at sanctuary hotel. We arrived 7:10 for a 7:30pm reservation. After discussing with host that the place was vegan only, she suggested we check downstairs with their regular sushi options and if it's open, we can dine there, if not we can go back. After not being able to get a reservation downstairs, we went back at 7:20 and she actually checked us in greeted us again and SAT US DOWN at a table. Then 10 minutes later, she came back and said she had cancelled our reservation after she sat us down. Claiming we mentioned to cancel it. If we had indeed cancelled it, why were we seated? Then she lied and tried to cover her tracks and said we had lied about the encounter. This was the worst dining experience I had ever encountered when someone gave away our reservation all in a matter of 10 minutes and tried to lie to cover their own ass. Really incompetent, above all dishonest, and we were pushed out of the restaurant with no apology. Horrific service. Do not come here. Do not...

The food was creative. The two dishes I personally enjoyed were the eggplant nigiri & watermelon sushi. The others for me were mid or just bad. The “cold Korean soup” was perhaps the worst dish I’ve ever been served. I’m sorry but my friend and I kept referring to it as ocean sewage water for many days to follow.
I am however, critical and non-vegan. I am also bleeding Asian food and soul out of my veins. If you are similar, I would not recommend because of the over-eager approach. I was let down on the lack of harmony and simple refined flavors I expect from a good omakase. I found most bites to be muddied and a bit harsh for the sake of fanfare. It’s kinda like you signup to a “yoga” class, but then this yoga has weights and resistance bands and edm & the energy is still good and fun and you even do some chaturangas, but you don’t feel the soul of what it’s supposed to be. You get me?
