One Girl Cookies — Restaurant in New York

We travelled from way uptown Manhattan back to this place this weekend. We had stumbled into this place on a whim years ago and remembered loving their offerings and our return visit did not disappoint. Our health app indicated we had walked 7 miles already and felt compelled to reward ourselves with the spikey cupcakes and whoopee pies.

I don't know how they do it, but the cake part of the cupcake has the perfect texture. It is soooo pillow-y...firm but soft. What I really like is that the cake and frosting are not overly sweet(just right!) and you don't feel like a sugar bomb just exploded inside you. The whoopee pies are the same. Just the right amount of sweetness and it is soft yet firm. It just dissolves so delicately in your mouth. Coffee offered was nice and a perfect compliment. most frustrating delivery experience, ordered 3 items, the store canceled one without notification (main item of the order), they replaced another item (due to nut allergy) with something that triggered other allergens and it was hardly a comparable replacement. when i called the store, manager's attitude was take it up with grubhub, blamed everything on grubhub's inflexibility and the fact that the store was "too busy to call" me for the adjustments. when i asked why didn't you just cancel the whole order, she again blamed grubhub. then i said you need to not partner with grubhub if this is the level of service, she said we tried. she offered no remedy only told me to take it with grubhub. are you serious with this kind of attitude and service? no establishment is above it all. and the food sure isn't worth the...

1 star for the dry af cakes... 1 star for the cookies they sell customers that have been baked for weeks sittin out waitin to be decorated...1 star to dawn the owner for being a bias against black individuals. 25 years in business and you dont offer your employees 40 hours or any benefits... underpaying staff and lying to them saying 32 hours is full time... 1 star all around... i will be reporting to the BBB.
