The service is great but the food is not. Not authentic Mexican or Oaxaqueñen. Not vegan friendly at all.
Staff were very friendly. I don't consume any animal products, so when I ordered veggie enchiladas and requested mole over them instead of having cheese, they accommodated this request. They also gave me complimentary rice and beans. At the same time, they'd asked us what kind of WATER we wanted. We'd asked for bottled and they never said we'd be billed for it. When we'd got our receipt, we'd been charged $8.50 dollars for water. A scam.
The food, however, is bad. It is not authentic. Nothing about it tastes authentically Mexican and especially not Oaxaqueñen. The veggie enchilladas were $25 for THREE measley enchilladas stuffed with nothing but corn. Like put some mushrooms and onions in there or something.
This restuarant is for white clientele, and it's so evident from the moment you walk through the door. I should've known better but I really wanted Mexican food. Do NOT come here if you want...
Read moreI’ll start by saying the food is delicious, I had the steak and it was definitely a hit, my friend had the fish and said it was amazing. Prices are ok but they don’t have happy hour (yes really). My friend and i walked in at about 3pm it was NOT busy they had enough servers , we were the third to occupy a table however, our server took so long w/our drinks we thought he forgot them, they arrived after the food about 30min of us sitting while having chips n guacamole., I mentioned the drinks when the food arrived and he returned put the drinks down and rushed off. No one came by to ask if all was ok. The place is worth trying out but servers definitely need to be more attentive! We didn’t bother ordering desert we asked for the check and left a 15%tip ($20 for a $136 meal) hopefully the server realized his service was NOT so good. And btw the bathroom needed some attention also. I’d give this place another try, hopefully service will be much better next...
Read moreExcited for good and interesting Mexican food in the hood! Not your typical fare or prices. Food is thoughtfully presented. The portions are generous.
Very good complimentary chips and salsa!
We thoroughly enjoyed the pork ribs, mole enchiladas, and the shrimp flautas! The fried calamari had deep fried jalapeno peppers which we Loved!
The grilled fish dish itself was very good with arugula and charred corn and quinoa. But the sauce was very bland.
The steak quesadillas looked more like tacos. The steak was well seasoned and tender. The dish didn't meet my expectations because it looked different and had less cheese than expected, but it was good.
We made short work of the churros and tres leches cake too.
The service seems a little too eager and inexperienced but it's early days
We did have a couple of virgin margaritas which were quite and we're looking forward to them getting their...
