I had the most unforgettable salmon sandwich in my life. I modified it to be on a croissant, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget it. It was savory, slightly slightly sweet from the croissant, creamy, crunchy, tangy, FLAVOR BOMB. The capers, dill, and onions added such an amazing freshness to the sandwich, and the cream cheese also tasted out of this world. I don’t know how it was so good, but I will dream about this place after I leave NY. The coffees we got were not my favorite, the flavor of the coffee itself was a little weak, and Im not sure if it’s because they do one shot in their lattes or…. I tried a plain latte so I was hoping for something a little stronger, but maybe it was just my fault I didn’t size down to a smaller cup. My husband is picky with coffee too, except he’s picky in the way that he needs it diabetically sweet. Even asking for extra sweet, it wasn’t sweet enough for him (more of a him problem than anything else lol), so be warned if you like reaalllyy sweet coffee. There were lots of places to sit at here, and the house was full. It must be a pretty popular place for locals and tourists alike. The service was also great, the guy taking our order was very kind and friendly. I would go there again for the food, but perhaps not the coffee for my...
Read moreWent in for the first time, and my drink was made very poorly with honey syrup all glopped together (wasn’t even remotely sweet tasting and awful texture from the honey syrup) - I asked the cashier very politely if I could get another flavor of latte instead. They looked at me like I had 4 heads and said that I could stir it up or add in syrup in the already messed up beverage. I asked if I could please just get a new drink with it corrected, they said they needed to “check” with the barista. I waited for over 5-6 min with my crying child only to find out they wouldn’t remake it and told me I simply needed to just “stir it up”. So I went straight to the barista myself and said, could you please remake this for a vanilla latte? They also looked at me like I had four heads and did not respond just stared at me, so I stood there waiting on a reply then finally they said OK fine. Took them another 5 to 6 minutes to make that. I might also have the shop is not very busy at this time so no need for the long wait times. They finally remade it but all of that ridiculous hassle I went through while my child was crying was unnecessary and took an additional probably 15 minutes or more just to go through all of that I will definitely not be back. Very...
Read morePavé is a little oasis tucked into the chaos of Midtown Manhattan. Outside, it’s the usual New York symphony of honking cars, jostling pedestrians and never ending construction. But step through the mint-green doors, and it’s a completely different world: calm classical music, warm lighting, and the gentle scent of freshly baked bread.
Service is fast and surprisingly well-coordinated for a busy shop—orders are taken and served quickly, and there’s even table service, which adds a touch of hospitality rare in this part of town. I tried the smoked salmon sandwich: the fish was indeed salty (as expected), but the baguette had a great chew without being tough, and the green-onion cream cheese was wonderfully rich and flavorful. Cappuccino was above average—smooth and satisfying.
Bonus points for selling SEY coffee beans and for a quirky little detail: you have to solve a mini puzzle to get the WiFi password. Thoughtful touches like that, combined with quality food and a serene atmosphere, make Pavé a lovely...
