When visiting a business, one expects prompt and efficient customer service, along with clean and inviting surroundings. Unfortunately, my recent experience at Picky Barista fell far short of these basic expectations.
The first issue I encountered was the utterly disorganized and neglectful customer service. Upon entering the shop, it quickly became apparent that the staff lacked attentiveness and commitment to their duties. The most frustrating part was the seemingly eternal wait – a whopping 10 minutes – until someone bothered to acknowledge my presence and take my order. It was as if the employees had completely forgotten they were working, creating a severe inconvenience for every patron. This level of unprofessionalism is both inexcusable and baffling.
As if the poor service wasn't already enough, the overall cleanliness of the shop also left a lot to be desired. A strong stench of stale air hung in the atmosphere, indicating a lack of proper maintenance and a disregard for hygiene standards. The tables were sticky, and the floor was scattered with crumbs and spilled drinks. Such an unclean environment is highly unappealing, making it difficult to enjoy one's meal or drink without concern.
Given these unfortunate experiences, it is with great regret that I cannot recommend Picky Barista. The combination of terrible customer service and unhygienic conditions creates an atmosphere that is far from inviting. Fortunately, there are numerous other establishments in the area where friendly service and cleanliness are major priorities.
In conclusion, save yourself the frustration and avoid Picky Barista. Seek out one of the many other welcoming and sanitary alternatives available in the vicinity. Your time and satisfaction are far too valuable to be spent in a place that fails to meet even the most basic customer...
Read moreA Hot Caramel Latte is delicious down to the last drop! Not sure if I’ll ever order something else from here because it’s so good. Smooth, good flavor without being overly sweet and not bitter at all. I always enjoy places where I can get a latte for here served in a real cup :) The Iced latte is good as well.
I got a hot tumeric latte once and didn’t love it, the flavor was good, but it had some grainy bits in it (as though some tea leaves were mixed in…not sure if it was on purpose, but I prefer a smooth drink.) I also got a iced matcha once that I found to be pretty bitter. I’m not a matcha expert, perhaps I just needed it sweeter, but I probably won’t order again.
Barista’s are friendly, and the place is poppin with people during the middle of a weekday, so sometimes it can get a little loud with people talking and the music. (I enjoy the playlists though).
They do have decent seating options which is awesome, but the comfy looking chairs could all use some more stuffing…they are not as cushioned as they look unfortunately. But I still I like to sit and read here. I’ll keep coming...
Read moreThis is a really nice coffee shop and a lovely addition to the neighborhood. It's not quite as good as nearby Birch--they need to keep the pastries in a closed case. My biggest issue is that I was told--after I'd been sitting for a half hour and even chatting nicely with the owner's lovely family--to leave because I was on a computer. Apparently, only people who work M-F are allowed to work in the restaurant on computers. This is tough for a lot of folks who work irregular hours, which in NYC is almost everyone. Particularly moms who don't get to catch up on work until the weekend. One partner stays home with the kids and the other partner gets to go somewhere else to concentrate and get extra work done. You'd think someone in the restaurant industry would be sympathetic to that. When I left, there were tables open. I walked over to Birch. Inside I saw a long line. One or two computers open. I went home because I...
