I am going to start saying I am Mexican, and I've been living in the US for 10 years, 5 out of the 10 in NYC. Then I want to say that if you say 'I like Mexican Food and want to try something that is similar to the tacos I eat there', then this is the place. Tortillas are the secret for each taco, we eat tacos with everything. I prefer corn tortilla over flour. So in the US, some 'Mexican restaurants' buy regular American tortilla, that is sweet(ish). Ploo has real corn blue and yellow tortillas. Plus the quality of the beef and pork is real good.
The owners are from Mexico and I am sure they were chefs there. Please, if you come to Chelsea, try this tacos, as good as 'La Numero Uno' and much better than Tacombi, and the comfort of a place where you can be seat and have a chat.
I love the place!

Read moreTaco enthusiasts in New York City will not want to miss Ploo at Olly Olly food hall, where the chef duo of Pablo Rojas and Roxanna Mejia bring the flavors of South Texas to life with their creations. The menu features both standards like marinated chicken or beef sirloin, as well as more exotic options like pork carnitas and tongue and cheek, all elevated by fresh ingredients including micro-greens and masterfully prepared meats. In addition to the amazing tacos, the salsas are not to be missed. The pricing reflects the high-quality ingredients and labor-intensive preparations, but it is worth it for the exceptional dining experience. The atmosphere at the food hall is welcoming and modern, with attentive staff contributing to an overall delightful experience. Ploo at Olly Olly stands out among the city's food hall offerings and is deserving of a spot on any...
Read moreThis is a hidden Gem! I honestly did not have super high expectations for this place only because most of the places I've eaten at in a cafeteria/market type setting have been pretty standard. But THIS place blew my tastebuds away. I am SO glad I came here because the food was on point! It's located inside the Olly Market and I was pleasantly surprised by the staff and food. The owner is totally bada$$. The flavors were absolutely delicious I left nothing behind. From the tortilla, the amount of meat they give you and the chips and salsa. I got the steak and pork and the little bits of pork rinds on top was such a good touch! The owner and her colleague were so nice, friendly and I even gave a tip to the cook who made my food. Seriously if you're in NYC you have to eat here if you want some flavor packed tacos. I can't...
