Princesa Bakery — Restaurant in New York

Wouldn’t buy any food from here again. My nephew’s cake was old (God knows how old it was) although I told them clearly I wanted a fresh cake. I went early in the morning and told them that I needed a cake for that night and I needed a fresh cake and they agreed to make it that day. I noticed that at my house nobody was eating from the cake not even my nephew who was the birthday wow and I didn’t assume anything until I tried it. Oh God that was the worst cake I have tried. It was so hard you stick the fork in and it will be standing.

Also I bought some “fresh empanadas” and they were so hard. I regret not opening the white box where they put it in when I went to pick it up. I’m still wondering how many times they fried it for it to be that hard or how old they were. It has so much oil, it was insane.

And I also bought a Cuban sandwich “the big one” it had a funny smell like if something was expired. I don’t know if it was the cheese, the meat, something I couldn’t tell what it was. I paid $40 for that sandwich and as soon as I grab a piece, I didn’t like the smell. Can you believe that $40 went straight to the garbage because nobody wanted to eat the sandwich. I was and still so dissapointed with the food.

$85 for a old, hard cake (very old) $40 for a sandwich that tasted so bad like if something was expired. (You know a sandwich for that price is bad when a bodega sandwich taste way better than that one)

$18 for oily, hard empanadas.

My nephew’s birthday was a disaster. We have to throw everything out. EVERYTHING... worst place!!! I will not buy anything from here again. Avoid at all cost!!!!

Also, I only gave one start because I had no choice but one star it’s a lot...

I ordered breakfast and waited almost 2 hours for my delivery, I called the bakery and asked if after waiting for almost 2 hours I was suppose to pay full amount, the manager called the delivery guy which was being very rude, I was able to hear the manager asking the delivery guy how much was my total, which it was $14 and change.. I heard the manager saying in Spanish “ah tan poquito y está pidiendo descuento, que pague 10” (so little money and he is asking for a discount, he can pay 10). I told the delivery guy I heard what he was told and I wasn’t interested in the food anymore. I really love the coffee from this place, and yes it wasn’t much I was going to expend on the breakfast but waiting almost 2 hours was a lot, and the nasty attitude of the delivery guy plus the manager’s way of handling things was very...

The cakes are good but the ice cream cakes are the best .... Sooo they service is not good.. if you dont speak spanish you will be standing their waiting for someone to take my order .. Despite it being 5 -6 people behind the counter they pick who they want to serve then everyone speaks Spanish so when they're speaking English you barely understanding them and they barely understand you then when you order and you tell them they made a mistake they looking at you like you did something wrong. some of the workers have very nasty attitudes and it seems like they do not want to serve colored people. If you want a good cake but nasty service that's the place to go. Majority of the customers and all of the workers are sapanish or mexican not a spacious place not much room to move around.
