Me and my family had just gotten off the ferry from the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island and we were all starving. I got on Google maps and stumbled upon Regular NYC; although we were a bit sceptical because they only had 80 reviews we thought we would give it a shot! When we walked into the door we were greeted by Josh, a barista, who was super friendly and nice. Then, what we think is the owner, also greeted us and took us to our table. Although it's a petite cafe it's still cute, cozy, and clean. Our server/owner was really nice, helpful, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit. We got some water in cute glasses and looked over the menu. We got chocolate milk and tea both of which were good. After some tough choices we got two Briskets, a Rubin Benny, and three of their French Toasts (we are a large family of six). Our food came out quickly; all of it tasted and looked amazing! My brothers were in love with the french toast, both of my parents couldn't get enough of the brisket, and my Rubin was spectacular! After we got done eating and paid the check (which was a fair price); we were getting ready to go but before we got up to leave they gave us some free leftover pastries! Later we had them and fell in love all over again; they were delicious!!! Me and my family had an extraordinary time here and hopefully will one day be back. The Regular NYC cafe is locally owned and definitely worth a visit!

This was the BEST french toast I've ever had in my life. I travel a lot, and I'm also a big foodie, so I've probably been to more coffee shops than I should. I always order french toasts when I see one because I love the idea of french toasts but never understood the hype. The ones I tried before were either too sweet, too egg-y, too floury.... too everything. Well, REGULAR NYC's french toast was ABOVE and BEYOND. I'm telling you, DO NOT put the cheese aside—this is the gem. I couldn't have enough of it. I've never had anything like this before—the balance of sweetness, richness, and creaminess is unbelievable. Of course, the toast and the poached pear were stunning The sourdough was rich in flavor, and I loved it— and I'm not a big sourdough person. I can confidently say that this is one of the best coffee shops in NYC. I recommend 100%. Whatever you order, everything will be spot on. Whether you're there for the coffee, the food, the aesthetics, the service, or just for the peace, you will not be disappointed. My partner and I also appreciated the cute mugs and the exceptional service. The all five-star google reviews are not an exaggeration. This is such a cute and cool place! We visit NYC every Christmas. Please be there when we come next year!💜 I'm excited to come back and try the other menus.

Excellent spot for a quick snack or brunch or lunch! They also have an impressive café with drink options. I started off with the chocolate chip cookie, because, felt like the right thing to do. They also only had one left so I wanted to make sure that it was mine. In a world where cookies regularly cost more than five dollars, it was refreshing to get this one for half of that price. They used some nice dark chocolate that was gooey, when eating and the cookie was finished with some sea salt. The lunch menu is available starting 11:30 AM which is what I opted for. The brisket sandwich sounded appetizing. I was on the fence about going to the mango salsa but decided to try it out. Overall, the sandwich came together really well. The brisket was excellent, and the bread was prepared to perfection. All the flavors worked well together . The people working there were super nice and attentive. I was in and out in a short amount of time, which was my goal.

During a recent visit to New York City from Atlanta, I had the pleasure of experiencing Regular NYC, a charming coffee shop in the Financial District that truly elevates the morning dining experience. A friend and I made the drive from Long Island specifically to check it out, and it was well worth the trip.

From the moment we arrived, the service stood out as exceptional—attentive without being intrusive, and the staff even remembered my name, a rare and thoughtful detail that added a personal touch to the experience. In an era where efficiency often outweighs hospitality, this level of care felt refreshing.

The breakfast menu delivered both in quality and execution. We opted for the avocado toast and French toast, both of which were beautifully prepared and bursting with fresh flavors. The French toast was perfectly balanced—light, yet rich, with just the right amount of sweetness. The avocado toast showcased high-quality ingredients, with a thoughtful combination of textures that made each bite satisfying.

To accompany the meal, I had an oat chai latte—expertly spiced, with a depth of flavor that was both warming and indulgent. It’s clear that attention to detail extends to their coffee and tea program as well.

Beyond the food and drinks, Regular NYC embodies what great hospitality should be—a welcoming space where guests feel both seen and valued. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is the kind of place that makes you want to return, not just for the food, but for the experience as a whole.

Verdict: If you find yourself in FiDi, don’t miss out on Regular NYC. It’s a perfect example of how a coffee shop can blend exceptional service, fresh ingredients, and a warm atmosphere into a standout breakfast...
