As a Jamaican we are very suspicious of every restaurant and super picky about our food.
With that being said, I am very proud to repost that this restaurant is actually quality and authentic food.
Tracy, who was more than patient while I tried to figure out why the Uber Eats option wasn’t working. She also made sure she honored the Patty promotion.
Con:
The patties were terrible. Tastes like they were reheated. Not fresh at all. Disappointed but not a big deal.
Pros:
The Oxtail was amazing. The rice and peas were exceptional with a hint of coconut milk, not overpowering like other places, just a welcomed hint of flavor and consistency.
Oxtail is the hardest meal to please anyone with and I believe that out of every restaurant I have been to in Brooklyn or Bronx (there is no such thing as a Jamaican restaurant in Manhattan, don’t even think about it) this has been the best . I am actually going back today, just for the oxtail.
My mother in law owns a restaurant in NY and she can’t even compare to the sate of Robinson Valley’s Oxtail and Rice and Peas, facts is facts.
Anyway, I wanted to give the company and the staff their flowers as deserved. Even the containers they used were high quality and didn’t leak or spill one ounce of the food. Great Job, see you all...
Read moreI was hoping to have real jerk chicken based on the other reviews. Sadly, this place does not have real jerk chicken. It’s baked chicken with some sauce on top. There is barely any spiciness to it. No spiciness that comes from authentic scotch bonnet peppers which kicks in hot ten seconds after you eat it, and no smoked flavor. It is a sad day in my quest to look for real jerk chicken.
The rice and peas were buttery. I suppose if you just want baked chicken with some Jamaican sauce this is a fine place. But if you’re looking for real smoked Scotch Bonnet Jerk chicken from Jamaica, this ain’t it. I miss the Jamaican lady on Atlantic who made real jerk chicken...
