āāāāā˜† 4/5 — ā€œGreat Dive, Slightly Parched Dogsā€ šŸ“ Lucky Dog – Williamsburg, Brooklyn 🐶 Maya & River Approved (with notes) āø» This is the kind of bar you want to love and mostly can. It’s a true Williamsburg dive: graffiti walls, scruffed wooden benches, $5 beers that don’t ask questions, and a patio vibe that says, ā€œyou’re welcome here, but figure it out yourself.ā€ I brought two dogs, Maya (white pit mix, calm queen) and River (the shaggy diplomat). They handled it perfectly, but Lucky Dog isn’t quite as dog-prepared as its name suggests. Here’s the thing: • Dogs technically aren’t allowed inside, so water access means you go in while they wait out. • They provide paper cups, not bowls. Cute for one dog. Chaotic with two. • No outdoor self-serve station = constant juggling act: leash, drink, hydration, composure. Choose two. The crowd? Chill. The dogs around? Varied. No aggression, but if you’re not confident managing a multi-dog vibe, this spot might stress you out more than soothe you. I handled it fine, but that’s because I know how to read dog energy in close quarters. Lucky Dog earns its stars, but loses one for not fully committing to what it markets. Want to be a dog bar? Great. Get some bowls. Maybe a hose. Give us one staff check-in per hour for the pups. Otherwise, I’ll keep showing up, but I’ll keep showing up prepared. āø» šŸ“ø Photos include Maya holding court on the patio and River surveying the terrain. Both judged it worthy, if slightly underhydrated. šŸ’” Pro Tip: Bring your own collapsible bowl and backup water. You’ll thank yourself.

If you go here, pay cash! Dont give your card. I have been to this bar a couple of times and always had a good time. Good dive bar thats allows pups. But my last experience seemed like a scam from the bartender. (Sorry I dont remember his name). We originally put 2 cards to hold our tab. We ordered 2 $10 pitchers, 4 beers, one stella and one allagash pitcher and a drink for a kind stranger. We asked for the bill and were insanely surprised when it came out to almost 200. As you can see, the bartender charged each pitcher as 4 drinks. I tried to talk to the bartender who wouldnt even talk to us. He eventually sent the manager. The manager reduced it to 125. He asked for a card and I gave him mine as the other 2 cards were returned. The next day we see that the 2 original cards were both charged the full 179. Not split as I would assume would make sense if it was an accident. Both charged the full amount! Plus my card which was charged the 125. We each had to go back to deal with this issue. Luckily everything has been refunded but I dont know what scam the bartender is trying to do. Yes we were drinking but we knew exactly what we ordered and how much it was. at the end of the night the bar took almost $500 for our group. I could understand putting the wrong price on a bill but charging 3 cards the whole bill is a straight up scam.

Luckydog is the perfect bar for the hipster Williamsburg crowd and beer lovers; like me. I have been a couple of times but can't say it is my favorite place yet. Yes, they have great beers, and they are super cheap, but the crowd is not for me. It can get loud, and the people that are smoking up by the front and in the backyard ruin it for me. I hate the smell of cigarettes, and it seems like a sh*tload of people smoke here. The bartenders are personable and know their stuff. Brian sticks out in my mind; he is a nice one that my sister and I chatted up one night. The bouncer by the door is excellent too. He has a good memory which is great. He looked out for me a night that I lost my debit card here. I like the concept; it is a decent looking bar. I love that people can bring their doggies along! That is my favorite thing about this place. I would come here just to pet dogs even if they weren't serving beers. I recommend this place for a hit and run. Come in, drink and then move out to the quieter, fancier places in Williamsburg. Or, come in and drink to your heart's content if you do not mind smelling like a pack of cigarettes when you leave. I get it; that might be some people's prerogative.

When my friend call me to meet for our regular friend time, I had to come see her with my dog since I had him with me. She said, oh let's go to Lucky Dog, they allow dogs.

She could not had picked a better place, I mean this friend knows just about ALL the best places to have fun. Omg! What a cool and awesome bar.

As I walked in, there were a few nice friendly dog there who greeted and played with my dog. It's a heavenly place for dogs, the vibe of the place is one of a kind, super friendly. My dog was even happier than me, he was walking all over wagging his tail, I could see the happiness in his eyes. My dog made a few human friends, he was working on the girls better than any man...he left me by my chair and went to hang out with some cute girls on the other side of the bar, I saw the girls talking and petting him. He stayed there for a while hanging with the girls, good thing I am not jealous, I let him have his fun. He kept going from the girls to the other dogs to play and socialize, he showed me that he has better social skills than me, he just blended with the crowd, he felt like the king of the night, and every one who walked in the bar, greeted and pet him.

The drinks were nice and affordable, not expensive like other places. For 3 beers, 1 juice and a snack the bill was 29.98. Not bad at all for a few hours of fun. The Bartenders were all nice and attentive, excellent customer service. They kept making sure that we had everything we needed as far as drinks.

There is a Lovely back yard with tables. I will surely be back, it was very relaxing to find a cool spot to wind off after work with my dog...
