Had a wonderful meal last night at SEE NO EVIL. We took the whole family - 3 daughters, two boyfriends and us, their two moms, for a classic NYC day: The Met, A pizza dinner, and a B-way show (“The Outsiders” - that’s another review, but suffice it to say, it was fabulous! ;-) Let me just say I was skeptical about this place because it was underground - in the subway concourse at 50th and 7th. Memories of greasy little subway pizza hole-in-the-walls from the 80’s ran through my head. But one of my daughter’s boyfriends assured us that SEE NO EVIL PIZZA is all the rage on Tik Tok. Well, I’m was glad I was proven wrong.
SEE NO EVIL PIZZA is this hip little spot tucked just one short flight down. The decor is clean and warm, with red walls and cool light wood panels with fun artwork hung on them. The service was exemplary! Our waiter Hashim immediately greeted us with an huge smile and was fabulous and attentive the entire dinner. It was restaurant week in NYC, this week, and Hashim explained the prix fix menu and all the delectable types of pizza they serve.
The manager, Laura, also attended to us - engaging us in fun chat and providing extremely considerate service. She even sent us over a complimentary appetizer and 2 desserts! Now that’s not something you experience everyday - especially at a pizza place! But, like I said, this is not your everyday pizza joint.
Which brings me to the pizza. I’m a New Yorker, so pizza is something of a hallowed entity for me. Happy to report, it was excellent. We tried 3 different pies: the Funghi, the Summer Babe, and the Pepperoni. They were all wonderfully creative and packed with yummy flavors. As part of the prix fix, we started with the ricotta appetizer and the pea and cheese fritters appetizer and both were amazing!
I’m very happy we dined at SEE NO EVIL PIZZA last night, it added to an incredible NYC day. Thank you Laura and Hashim for making us...
Read moreA friend of mine was in New York made us reservations to check out this place, and I'm so glad he did. Is at the 50th Street Subway stop. If you don't know where you're going, there's a good chance you'll miss it. Also found out that the same people who own this pizza place own a bakery and coffee shop right across this way as well as the bar next door, so a great little place to stop in New York for whatever you want. Want. This place was definitely crowded, and reservations would be strongly recommended. All the servers were super friendly, said hello, and they came over and took our drink order right away. There is so much to see on this menu. I'm so glad I was there with a group of people so that we could try multiple items. I highlighted in my pictures which items we got, but there were four antipasto items and two pizzas. The only thing I would probably not get again was the Caesar salad. The radicchio is not something I was a fan of, and I felt like there was too much of it in this salad. Everything else was absolutely spectacular. Spectacular. The Margarita pizza here is to die for. We really wanted to try the ice cream with olive oil for dessert, but the ice cream machine was broken. Super bummed, but gives me another reason to come back... As if the fantastic food service wasn't enough!!! If you're looking for a cool little restaurant to grab some super interesting food from while in New York, this...
Read moreThis place is such a gem find in nyc! My hubby and I wanted artisan pizza in times square and found this place because of it’s amazing reviews and the food did not disappoint at all! We had the summer babe pizza which was delicious. It was made with a zucchini pesto, also sliced zucchini, fresh sliced mortadella, fresh pine nuts and artisan Neapolitan authentic style pizza crust, and fresh mozzarella. It was absolutely divine and one of the best pizzas that I’ve ever had even from fine dining restaurants, and I lived in Italy for quite some time and have lived in Naples, this totally surpassed my expectations! This place is amazing! You have to visit and the host Laura is a doll. The service was great and our food came out extremely fast. It is also very easy to find this restaurant, it’s right as soon as you go down the subway steps you don’t have to go in far at all and it is cozy air conditioned inside. We will definitely be back thank you so much for this incredible hidden treasure under...
