It's a big disappointment this local coffee shop that I have been supporting for years isn't regarding previous reviews (see below):

“The guy serving at 9.10am on Sunday July 6th needs to be fired. The worst service I have ever received. Stood there doodling instead of taking my order. You guys need to hire better people!”

“Every time the staff was rude, angry and unwelcoming.”

“Who ever hires the people who work there needs to either do a better job of interviewing or someone else needs to do the hiring. We are officially no longer coming here to buy anything. I advise any one else thinking of coming here to avoid it until they change their staff members or improve their service. Shocking and really disappointing.

“Is it against store policy here for employees to smile?”

I've worked as a barista and as cashier for coffee shops for years - I know what it feels like. I have empathy and compassion for this position. Every time I go into September the service is pretty abysmal. Especially the young tall man who permeates negativity. He really is the rudest individual I have ever met in the service industry! Buddy - please get a new job if you are suffering this much. Feel for you but you're in control of your life and if you hate working at September so much, you need to find something else and move on!

The staff is consistently unwelcoming. Be prepared to wait in a long line with no urgency, full complacency. It's such a beautiful space, so very well curated - but it doesn't balance out the negative energy x bad vibes.

There's a lot of kind, warm, welcoming neighborhood coffee shops to check out if you value supporting a coffee shop that is welcoming and provides basic human respect & service: -Covert -Bakery by Textbook -Cup of...

This is my favourite coffee shop in the area, I live just around the corner and have been coming to get coffee here for the best part of the last year. The staff have changed over time and I have to be honest, the service is very hit and miss. There are only two women who work there that provide the correct level of hospitality. There is a gentleman that serves in there who is completely devoid of all emotion and will always lead with “what do you want” If the manager reads this can you please tell the young guy who works there that he needs to learn how to smile and have a positive outlook when working because he makes me not want to buy coffee when ever I see he is working. He doesn’t look happy to be there and I feel bad for the other people who work there that want to do a good job because he brings the place down massively. Either he needs hospitality training or he needs to find a job that makes him happy.

REVIEW EDIT: reduced to one star due to service as there is one woman who works there that has the correct level of customer service. Do not come here if she isn’t serving, especially if the tall angry man is behind the counter doodling instead of engaging with his customers in a polite and welcoming way. Who ever hires the people who work there needs to either do a better job of interviewing or someone else needs to do the hiring. We are officially no longer coming here to buy anything. I advise any one else thinking of coming here to avoid it until they change their staff members or improve their service. Shocking and really...

Listen, there are certain things about this place I like. I like the matcha latte and how they don't add anything to it (although I wish they offered soy milk, because that's how I've had it in Japan- oat milk is fine but not quite right). I used to like some of their vegan options when they existed. But there are things I find frustrating about it. They've steadily gotten fewer and fewer vegan options, and replaced all of their sandwiches with egg sandwiches. Multiple times, I've gone to get a matcha latte (I don't and can't drink coffee), and they've been out of matcha. They offer other teas, but they all have flavors and I don't really trust flavors. The pastries aren't labeled, and I never know exactly what it is I'm ordering from under the vegan dome, and weirdly, whenever I try something and decide I actually like it, I never see it under the dome again. I wish things were labeled. I wish I didn't feel awkward ordering here. I wish I didn't spend an ample amount of my lunch break or risk being late to work waiting to get a matcha latte only to not get anything. I want this business to do better and be better, because I certainly want to support them, but I'm finding less and less to actually...

I was looking for a spot with indoor seating, AC, and Wi-Fi, and this place fit the bill. The bagel was tasty, though a little heavy on the cream cheese (easy enough to scrape some off), and the coffee was strong and flavorful. The service was fine but felt impersonal—more like being treated as a number than a guest. A simple warm hello or smile can go a long way. What stood out most was the cleanliness, or lack of it. Many tables were dirty, and the floor could’ve used a sweep, while staff were chatting about weekend plans instead of tidying up. It gave the impression that customer experience wasn’t the priority. Overall, the food and coffee were good, but the atmosphere and service could use some improvement.
