This Starbuck at 301 West 145th Street, New York stands for them selves and not the people of the community. I understand stores are there for profit but this place is backwards. They don't allow customers to use their bathroom which is insane since they serve liquids. I visited on 4/3/21 and a Hispanic lady walked in after. Her English was not too great but it was clear enough to here her ask to use their bathroom. There were 6 employees behind the counter, all women and they told the lady the Bathroom which is in plane site was not available due to covid-19. Now that is not a covid-19 restriction, but they made it theirs. One of the ladies behind the counter went on to say they had to clean it too often and that is why they keep it locked. NOT A VERY FRIENDLY STARBUCKS TO VISIT. I TAKE THIS ONE PERSONALLY BECAUSE I DELIVER MAIL. AND WHEN YOU ARE ON THE ROAD DELIVERING MAIL TO THE MANY ADDRESSES SOMETIME YOU NEED TO GO. PLACES LIKE THIS DO NOT DESERVE MY BUSINESS OR THE PUBLIC. YOU ARE BETTER OFF GOING TO DUNKIN DONUTS UP THE BLOCK ON THE OTHERSIDE OF THE STREET, WHERE YOU CAN USE THEIR BATHROOM. SO GO AHEAD AND ASK THEM TO USE THE BATHROOM AT STARBUCKS AND SEE IF THEY CONTINUE TO TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE UNCIVILIZED ANIMALS. I PERSONALLY WILL NOT BUY FROM A VENUE THAT DO NOT ALLOW THE USE OF THEIR RESTROOMS. ITS BACKWARDS TAKING AWAY YOUR DECENCY. Read moreMy daughter and I placed an order for two drinks and paid at the counter. After placing our order, I joined my daughter at a table where she was seated with her shopping bags. Within two minutes of sitting down, a staff member approached us and questioned whether we had ordered. I found this question offensive, especially since I had just been at the counter.
The interaction quickly escalated into a back-and-forth. Despite having paid, our money was returned, and we were asked to leave. The staff stated we were “disturbing the business,” even though we were simply sitting quietly waiting for our drinks. Meanwhile, other customers were seated without being questioned.
The manager’s behavior was also highly inappropriate. She assumed I hadn’t paid and instructed staff not to prepare our drinks, loudly stating, “Don’t start that drink yet — she doesn’t have the money.” This public assumption and humiliation were uncalled for and deeply disrespectful.
I felt targeted, disrespected, and treated as though I didn’t belong. This experience has left a very negative impression, and I do not intend to return to this location. I will also be contacting corporate by phone to ensure this incident is properly investigated.
I hope Starbucks takes this complaint seriously and addresses the behavior of the staff and management...
Read moreNever had a real problem here, staff is all nice and communicative. My issue is that they are all, to the last, wholly ignorant of the mobile order pickup area. And it doesn’t help that there is always some aggressively clueless Karen archetype standing wide legged right in front of the mobile order pickup area, but they also block it off so you can’t help yourself if you tried. Typically two obstacles would prove enough, but nay, there needed to be a final obstacle in an invisible wall of not being able to ask anyone for your drink. This happens on busy days and not so busy days, there is literally always an employee standing right next to the area and they simply watch people pile up rather than asking “any mobile orders?” I have seen it done elsewhere, they do everything else perfectly here, please assign someone to actually acknowledge the mobile pickup area. Please.
UPDATE after remodel: holy cow they move even slower. 15 minutes standing in line with zero progress. This lady takes nothing but time to help out luddites who come in not knowing how to order on their phone and set the rest of us back.
