Where do I begin? Went last night with my girlfriend wanted to try something new ,so we chose the Bronx. The place is stunning but lets get to the real deal here. The staff needs serious training you can not have an amazing place and lack staff it just does not fit. We had appetizers and wine. The food is tasty unfortunately our waiter lacked manners, professionalism and knowledge of the brand he is working for. Flirted with my girl, never came around to see if we were ok. From a distance winking at my girl and just poor demeanor. Once we paid the bill my girlfriend wanted to sit at the bar and try a signature cocktail. We ordered Sangria she paid the bill at the bar. About ten minutes into our conversation a bill was placed in front of us. She was puzzled because she had paid already. As we approach one of the Bar tenders he states " We did not pay the bill" my girlfriend tells him "Yes, I did please confirm" he comes back and tells me you did not tip the waiter my mouth dropped. Tipping is at once discretion. How tacky and uncouthed of the staff to do that. He did not deserve a tip coming from Manhattan we know about tipping however my girlfriend did tip the bartender. They were insisting we did not pay at this point we are feeling humiliated and upset. My girlfriend walks over to the Bar Manager explains the situation still its like no comprehension on customer service. She was upset, music was loud do the voice tones were high. Here comes security asking if all was ok. Trying to get our point across the bar tender decides to remove our drinks we paid for. Are you kidding me? Here we are trying to justify this mess they created then another security guy chimes in making it worse. My girlfriend just wanted to get a point across about tipping, customer service, the treatment they were giving us mind you we were not drunk nor tipsy we are not heavy drinkers. They were trying with that card as they noticed we were not. I asked why the drink was taken away, they tried to charge us twice for the Sangria insisting we did not pay all because of the not leaving a tip. We suggested check your security cameras. To boot my girlfriend just wanted to sit and have the Sangria, they were willing to serve it after 20 mins explaining the situation and why were we being treated poorly like criminals. The second security guard told her You can't sit at the bar. Really? That's where we said this is just a nasty place never again will we go or recommend. As my gf told him I sit where I please I paid my bill. How dare you tell a customer that. TRAIN YOUR STAFF YOUR SHELL LOOKS AMAZING BUT YOUR INSIDE LACKS...
Read moreLooks like a whole in the wall from the outside but once you’re inside, you feel as though you’re in an elevated space that captures the vibrant energy of the Bronx!
Plenty of floor and bar seating to choose from and enough spacing between them as not to feel overcrowded by other patrons. The music is loud but not enough to prevent mid-volume conversation or place an order with the professional and amicable staff.
The food is delicious and fresh and the cocktails are well crafted.
Definitely would come again!
UPDATE:
Unfortunately, my third experience here was less than satisfactory. Friends and I arrived here for Happy Hour on 07/04/25 around 4:00PM. We ordered a few drinks and a few items from the Happy Hour menu including the mango margarita (decent), tamarind margarita (also decent), a glass of white wine (very dry and poor quality), yucca fries (which did not come with the normal house green sauce), chicken tenders, and wings ($10 for 4 wings).
We then ordered wings from the regular menu; however, the bartender who was already inattentive as he was taking shots and distracted by his phone, placed an order for their holiday special which included 4 wings, fries, and a beer. We didn’t order the special and we didn’t receive a beer. I had to request that they take back the fries we did not order and that if we did order the special, we still didn’t receive all items listed. Essentially, we paid $14 for 4 wings due to this mishap. In addition, we ordered two Chamicos from the regular menu; however, the bartender made them with chiles which are not listed on the menu. I showed him and another bar back present what the drink is supposed to look like (which I took from my last visit) and they refuted my claim. The Chamicos were disgusting and we requested they be removed from the bill. There were only about three parties present at the restaurant totaling to approximately 10 people so we were disappointed by this experience.
Maybe this is just a place to come late at night when the bartender named Fren is there because he is professional and attentive. I definitely will not return for any daytime hours should I...
Read moreGreat Michelin star restaurant in the Bronx! I dined here three times so far in order to offer a fair assessment.
PROS: *Staff is great! Super friendly, engaging, and fast-but you don't feel rushed.
*Beautiful interior design and roomy. You're not sitting in the lap of the next table of guests. The place is huge with three levels and enough restrooms that you don't have to wait and wiggle :)
*The drinks are on point no matter what you order! Going during happy hour is a must!
*The food was a hit twice and a total miss once. I ordered the same items in order to make a fair comparison: fried shrimp dumplings, avocado rice, Thai rice, roasted salmon, shrimp egg rolls, bam bam shrimp, veggie pad Thai, rice & black beans, sweet plantains.
The first visit was on a Saturday evening and the food was beyond delicious! I loved that every item has it's own distinct flavor/seasoning. The second visit was on a Thursday evening and it was the worst! Everything, and I mean everything, tasted like black pepper. So much so, you could actually see the pepper on the food. Someone had to have made a mistake in the kitchen. I was unable to finish the food. The third visit was on a Tuesday evening and all the stars were aligned! The food was seasoned to perfection. The Thai rice is my favorite dish, and I'm not a big rice eater.
CONS: IT'S TOO LOUD! Did you hear what I said? IT'S TOO LOUD!
Unfortunately, having a conversation is virtually impossible. The music is at deafening levels and the later it gets the louder it gets. A drummer (not a live band) played to accompany the already loud music. It was unnecessary and only made having conversations out of the question. My party of four had to leave earlier than we would have like because of this.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Beautiful restaurant with good food, drinks, staff, and service. Go when they open, the music isn't so loud at that point. I'll definitely return...
