I applied to this location in particular because it is close to where I live. I’ve been in communication with the corporate manager since the application process began receiving and responding to emails with out any problems. I arrive to the location today to turn in my resume as me and the corporate manager have arranged. Upon arriving I’m approached by the store manager and he’s shadowed by a girl wearing hijab. They approach me and I explain to them “hi, hello, my name is... and I’ve been sent here via your corporate manager to speak with you face to face...” I wasn’t greeted in return, i was quite frankly ushered towards the door, like a wild. begger. The manager uttered things like “corporate not franchise”, he couldn’t seem to understand simple things like “ I have a resume for you to review” “are you a hiring manager”I left with no hesitation. I’m not going to apply and try to get employment somewhere that the head of the staff does a poor job at understanding a persons simple request. Ive contacted the corporate manager and asked him if he was hiring for other locations. Idk if it was only the language Barrier preventing him from understanding me or if he was also acting based from his culture. As I was being ushered out a woman came in and greeted the hijab wearing female with an Islamic greeting and the girl eagerly responded. I feel like I was prejudiced against upon entering this establishment. If youre of middle eastern decent, wear a hijab, or speak fluent Arabic. You’ll love this place. But if your a young educated African American male like myself, I advise you stay far away from here. The mannerisms and overall atmosphere of this place screams trouble for black youth. They definitely ain’t interested in hiring black youth or even looking at one of...
Read moreFirst time here, order at the counter without. Hitch. Second time, light skin black girl with nails way too long to be dealing with anybodies food and goes against food prep regulations. So I hope she is never in the back. She took an order prior to me approaching the counter after waiting patiently in line and not being acknowledged to place my order once she took the person in front of me. She processed to tell me she can't take my order bc she is only allowed to place certain orders, bc of what I asked for... so I can just make my order at the kiosk. That I had by passed bc it was full of after school kids, but this was after asking "Well what are you trying to order?" It was just unexpected, rude, and giving off the impression that she didn't want to put it in the order in the computer. Bc as I said she literally just took an order prior to me. To then ask that question, only to redirect me to a machine. I just walked out hungry and upset bc I just left a 5 hr food handling class a few block over. I had not eaten a meal all day. The two gentlemen that serviced me last time were part of the reason I even came back bc they were friendly, polite, and ready to take my order. I appreciated that needed service. That polite, well mannered human interaction is a big factor in customer service when it comes to fast food establishments. It is still key to having returning customers. Those two guys are the only reason I will rate it a 2 bc, she alone...
Read moreTaco Bell Cantina located on 23rd and Seventh Avenue. “Taco Bell Cantina” means that it has beer on tap. this location medium-ish sized. there’s a decent amount of indoor seating—small tables and a large central table. there are bunch of touchscreens to order if you don’t want to do so at the counter. there’s a restroom tucked in the back.
stopped by here to pick up some Bel Grande Nachos and ordered via touchscreen bc no one was at the counter. about 7-10 minutes later my order was packed, bagged, and grabbed it to go. the nachos were prepared well, adequate layers of cheese, sour cream, beef, & refried beans more atop nachos. consistent with nachos that i have had at other Taco Bell locations. Bel Grande Nachos are $6ish
i’d have given this location another star but the staff seems kinda on autopilot. like no one greets you when you come in and approach the counter as there was no one manning the counter when i was there…yet there were two employees just standing in the back not doing anything as one other employee was making orders (you can see clearly into the kitchen from the counter). it was kinda odd. instead of walking orders to customers, the staff just sorta drops it in one area for you to pick up. come one—extra effort is a good thing folks. all in all, the staff seems to be doing the basics well but there’s like zero effort...
