I was very excited about moving into Caesura and was impressed with the overall look and tone of the building. However I wish I had been warned which is why I feel impelled to write this negative review. When I picked up my keys and looked at my apartment (807) I found an infestation of bed bugs in the built in furniture and mattress. The bed bugs were fed and as there were no occupants for at least one month at this point, it was evident this issue was not contained to the single apartment. While management did the steps necessary and said they were starting treatment it did not comfort me in the fact that for a company which prides itself on management, no one even saw the bed bugs which were evident to me within two minutes of walking into the apartment. I chose to terminate the lease before even moving, since this was clearly a sign of a larger problem. The management company barely offered apologies and instead offered to let me know if another apartment was available. While I understand bed bugs occupy so much of NYC, I would do a thorough check of a Caesura apartment before moving or signing anything, as cleanliness is clearly not a value of this...
Read moreThe rooftop of this building is making huge party noise, now, over 11:00 pm. I live in a building next to it, and the noise penetrates my closed windows about 40 floors above the ground, to the extent that earplugs won't help at all. Totally inconsiderate, or I'd say, uncivilized behavior.
To the management: please put on signs on your rooftop to ban music playing. I have called 311 and hopefully they will intervene properly.
Update: now 11:30 pm. They set the volume down a little bit. But it is still very very loud. No sleeping is possible under this noise.
Update: now over 12.00 am. Still playing loud music and shouting. Wow.
Update: 12:30. No sign of stopping. Loud music. Shouting. Wow wow.
Update: 1 am. Even louder. Wow. You people really know how to make others suffer.
Update: 1.45 am. They are turning up the music and starting to yield like beasts. "here we go lets go lets go lets go..." With all fours maybe?
Update: OK 2:15 am. I really want to be polite, if only they allow me to sleep. Those animals do not seem to have a basic sense of shame or minimal respect for their fellow beings....
Read moreMy experience with the Caesura leasing office, specifically with Angelo and David, was profoundly disappointing.
I viewed an apartment and was subsequently instructed to provide a $500 holding deposit to secure it, a standard procedure I promptly followed. It is therefore bewildering and discouraging that the leasing office failed to honor its own process, leasing the apartment to another applicant while my application was pending. One would expect a luxury apartment building to have a basic grasp of its own leasing protocols and respect for its tenants.
This initial incompetence was compounded by a failure to return my $500 deposit. It has been over a month, and despite multiple calls and repeated assurances that the refund would be processed, no action has been taken. While I was initially willing to overlook the operational lapse of giving away the unit, holding my funds indefinitely crosses a line from mere incompetence to a serious lack of professional integrity.
I would strongly advise prospective tenants to be cautious, as the leasing office's standards of conduct are lacking in...
