I got a 1-hour couple’s massage, and it’s been three weeks since my visit, but I’m still in so much pain! I repeatedly asked for an extra pillow under my abdomen due to my back injury, but the staff didn’t speak English. After several attempts to explain, the masseuse finally brought a long side pillow and forced me into a very uncomfortable side position. When I tried to adjust myself, she forcefully pushed me back into the position that was convenient for her. The pressure was extremely painful—as if she was deliberately trying to hurt me. I asked multiple times for her to ease up, but each time she briefly softened and then went right back to painfully hard pressure. My husband, who was in the same room with a different masseuse, also had to complain several times about the excessive pressure. On top of that, both masseuses chatted with each other in Chinese throughout the session, making it impossible to relax. It was very cold in the place, and the hot towels were cold. When it is cold outside and we are stripping down it should be warm inside. Also if you give me a 60 min massage and not once do you massage my shoulder blade area despite my indicating to you (by pointing) that my shoulder and neck area is in pain, something isn't right. If you spend half the time applying oil, please note I am here for a massage of muscles and not for you to moisturize my skin. Having had numerous massages in the past and generally enjoying a firmer touch, my recent experience at this massage place was uniquely disappointing. Despite my clear preference for a harder massage, the therapist persisted at an uncomfortable intensity even after multiple requests for a gentler approach.
