TK's Deli — Restaurant in New York

Used to stop by regularly since it’s by the station, but the guy working there yesterday evening scammed me. I got a soda ($2) and a muffin ($2.50) and paid and was charged $6.24! Realized that was too high and asked him about it and he confirmed the price for the 2 items was $4.50 total, so I asked then why is it suddenly $6.24? He said “Oh it’s taxes you know” and didn’t wanna fix it. I’m sorry sir but everyone knows NY sales tax is 8.875% meaning the total should’ve been $4.90 not $6.24! Even adding a 3% credit card fee it would still just be $5. Sure it’s not a lot of money one time, but it adds up if you come here regularly and they continue making up random numbers to charge you extra without you noticing. From now on I’ll use the other deli next door instead… Disappointing and...

Beware the prices posted for food items on their flickering video boards make sure you ask to confirm that you're going to get the posted price. yesterday I ordered a falafel and rice which is posted at $5 and they tried to charge me $6 but I insisted the board said $5 and they said okay today I ordered the same item and they said no you read the board wrong it's always been $6 so pay up or leave I left I left their food there I hope they're happy eating it cuz I certainly didn't want it at those...

These guys are the best. There's literally no way they could possibly be any better, from great food to the most friendly, neighborly customer service, this place isn't a bodega .. it's an institution in this neighborhood.
