My mom use to talk about this place all the time. She used to say that when she was pregnant with me that my dad would bring her calzones and pizza from here. One day a few weeks ago when I opened my mailbox there was a menu for the place in my mailbox. When I realized what the menu was I took a picture of it and sent it to my aunt and ask her if this was the same place that my mom used to talk about and she said indeed it was. So I saved the menu for a day when I knew that I would want to order pizza and wings.
That day was last night after work it was raining and I didn't feel like cooking. I ordered something that they have on the menu called party night it's a coupon for an extra large cheese pie, six garlic knots, six wings and a 2 liter soda for $22. I placed the order over the phone and I also was able to pay over the phone. You have to be sure to mention the coupon or you won't get the price that is offered on the coupon if you don't mention it.
Anyway delivery was quick, however, the pizza was a lukewarm and I'm guessing that because the wings were covered in one of those aluminum containers that they probably got soggy, I'm not too sure but I didn't care too much for the wings they were soggy and didn't have much sauce on them. I'm more of a fan of wings that are unbreaded and these wings were breaded and I guess that's what made them even more soggy being that they were breaded and then they steamed underneath the lid plate. The pizza was tasty, although I like piping hot pizza so I actually had to reheat it in my oven so that it would be so the temperature of my liking. About the pizza cheese was good, melty and gooey (once reheated) sauce was very minimal and the crust was a bit airy, not so crispy even though I reheated it in my oven. It wasn't bad but it wasn't what I expected but then again I'm going off of what my mom said and that was over 40 years ago so who knows if they're even the same owners or even use the same ingredients. Nowadays ingredients change they become mediocre ingredients with inflation.
All in all I would probably order pizza from them again because honestly out of all the pizzas I've had delivered here this has been the best one that I've gotten delivered here to...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars I would. I have ordered from this pizzeria so many times and it would take over two hours for the food to come. The driver would always come reeking of weed with ice cold food and they would always forget an item or give me the wrong food. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because of the pandemic and because they are one of the few places in the area that accepts cards and is not over priced. On my last order, they forgot a slice I ordered and when I called about it they said they will give it to me next time because they were closing. I called to order a pie this afternoon and said "Hi, I would like to place an order for delivery please" and the counter man intentionally hung up the phone on me. I called back and his coworker answered the phone and I can hear him in the background saying "I hung up the phone on her and she called back". He then gives the phone to the same counter man who tells me they will not deliver to my address. I have always tipped, paid in advance and been polite but now they are refusing to deliver to me because they owe me a slice. Do yourself a favor and save your money- there are better pizza places who actually value their customers and will deliver your food hot. If you are looking for delicious pizza and great customer service, Tommy's should NOT be an option. Sophia's pizza or Aldo's pizza both have better customer service and deliver the food promptly and it is always...
Read moreMy family that lives locally highly recommends this place. My Dad that has lived in Florida for the last 28 years only wanted pizza from Tommy's on our past visit to Queens. They sell pizza by the slice and by pie and have a great variety of the most popular pizza topping combinations as well different styles like Sicilian, thin crust, deep dish, calzones, strombolis. Everything looked delicious :) almost dangerously delicious :) We ordered a large cheese pizza with extra cheese. I personally was not impressed (and I LOVE pizza especially NY style) but it was good and it was super extra cheesy. Everyone else that had a slice thought it was amazing however. It's a casual joint where you can sit and eat or take to go. The vibe was nice and I saw customers come in that were well acquainted with the owner Tommy. It made me feel good to see that he has long time customers that frequent there. I wouldn't show any out-of-state friends this place to exemplify NY style pizza but if you live locally I think its a place where you can count on fresh quality ingredients and consistently a...
