2024's Biggest NYC Chinese Food Festival! These 9️⃣ Are My Absolute Favorites

First time here. I was looking for something different for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I live in Brooklyn so obviously I wanted to support the local community. I went online looking for restaurants and this caught my eye being it a seafood place. The reviews were good and so I came here to try it out. Location was easy to find and parking was ample maybe being it was Sunday?? Anyways I ordered the Snow Crab combo which consists of, you guessed it, snow crab legs, mussels, shrimp, clams crayfish and other vegetables. The only thing I find interesting is you get to choose 6 sides but ony 4 were available. So I had to chose 3 sides twice. Ok let's do e into the main course. Taste wise it was flavorful. The sauce was a little too strong for me. It was spicy almost curry like. I prefer my seafood doused in butter and garlic which it just great. Amount wise it was enough for 4 people. I was disappointed in the crayfish which I think is just there as eye candy. Not much meat. The shrimp was juicy and succulent and clams were plump. Atmosphere wise it was so so like your regular diner without the bells and whistles. I would recommend it if you are looking foe something different besides Italian and continental for brunch.

Thought I’ll give this place a try since it’s close to Costco. Overall decent. The Happy Hour entice me. $4 dollar domestic beer and $1.25 each oyster/clam. I order the half dz clam & half dz oyster to start, good both fresh. Main dish was seafood pasta deluxe, nothing special they could’ve taken out the beak from the little squid which I had to spit out. Here’s the real issue. I want to order another round of clam and oyster but was told they ran out of clams at 4pm, one hour into the happy hours? Come on! I know you need to make a profit but don’t penny pinch. I really want to support this business but conflicted. How do you expect return customers when you pull stunts like that? Now whenever someone ask about this place I’ll tell them about not honoring your advertisement.

I debated if I should give this place 1 or 2 stars, i decided to give it two simply because the staff is really polite and nice. They mean well, but they have so far to go. Our waitress didn’t know her menu well, and didn’t seem knowledgeable about the choices. She was very sweet and so was the rest of the staff. Unfortunately, this is about the only positive thing I can say. The restaurant is rather small, and the outside seating does not look inviting. I think the outside is more roomy, but that’s about it. Talk about no frills dining. Now for the food, i guess the value was ok, but that’s the best I can say. I have been to MANY MANY MANY seafood boils (Atlantic Avenue, Park Slope and Lower Manhattan) in NYC and this place was by far the least favorite. Their “special” sauce had nothing special about it. It lacked FLAVOR, which they try to compensate for by making it spicy. The consistency of the sauce was runny and milky. Just when i thought maybe it was me, or my dish, i tried my friends dish which had the garlic butter....i think. I could not find any garlic or butter on her dish. I didn’t think it could get any more flavorless than my orange milk, but i was wrong. For a minute i thought I came down with something, and had lost my sense of taste......in the middle of this meal. Have these folks ever heard of BUTTER, GARLIC, or LEMON, or hell even SALT?? Water has more flavor than my meal did. The garlic bread was about the most flavorful thing on our table, and they even managed to mess that up by serving it slightly burnt. I was really hopeful to have found a hidden gem in Brooklyn for seafood boil, but instead i left disappointed and dissatisfied. Good luck to them, they seemed to have a number of customers. I don’t know these customers just never had better, or don’t know any better. Would love to have polled then to see how many were “returning” customers. I’ll continue traveling to Other spots in New York...

So on 08/20/2022 I ordered food from here using DoorDash. I’ve done this with this restaurant plenty of times, as well as eaten at this location plenty times. From when they first opened I was eating here at this establishment and the food and portions were always amazing! Down to the garlic bread. However, with the understanding of prices rising everywhere’ at the VERY LEAST I would’ve expected same quality or higher with the prices going up. Not only have their prices sky rocketed tremendously’ now for the crab legs boil they give you half the portion of crab legs. When they first opened you were getting minimum 1 1/2 clusters of crab legs or even 2 clusters. Now they make you pick one or two clusters’ and if you make it 2 it’s an additional almost $30! My one order of clusters had FOUR snow crab legs in it. I paid almost $70 the other night on DoorDash for a boil that was so empty. my bag literally felt empty when it arrived. That’s how small their portions are now. I think it’s just time to find a new spot. If they can improve their quantity and quality for the price I’m okay! But they’re going downhill...
