Ordered takeout. Tacos seemed like a cheaper alternative, but I knew I'd need quite a few to satisfy my appetite. Instead, I opted for the carne(spicy pork) enchilada burrito. The serving size was humongous; on a normal, non-fatty day, I would suggest to split this with another deserving soul.
On a fatty day, it was balls to the wall, no-holds-barred. The spicy pork came out disappointing. While the burrito was great in portion size, it was too unbalanced in terms of meat to rice ratio. And what pieces of meat I could taste was too salty. I didn't feel it was spicy even by my standards. I like my pork to be juicy and fatty, but this was overcooked and therefore dry.
On the plus side, the burrito came with a small heap of lettuce with slices of cucumber and a large slice of tomato. After having such a heavy and savory burrito, it was pleasant to cool down the palate with the salad.
I also ordered a papaya smoothie. After I put in this order, the cashier gave another lady a look. I should have rescinded my order based on the look. It's never a good thing. It either means they're going to 1. give you a house special similar to a scene in "Waiting..." or 2. the food is not fresh to begin with and requires no sabotage.
I watched as she made it, and thankfully, it was not numero uno. However, after sipping it, it tasted nothing like papaya. Sure, there was a hint, but it was masked by milk and sugar. It honestly tasted more like a vanilla milkshake than a fruit smoothie. The only giveaway was the orange tint in the drink. Not recommended.
As for whether or not I'd return: it's still a possibility if I'm in the area. I'd definitely stick with the tacos, and if I ventured back into burrito-town, perhaps try the highly-noted lengua. Who doesn't...
Read moreWe have eaten at this restaurant many times. We have even recommended it to others and have eaten there with family, friends on many different occasions. I always order Enchiladas Mixtas en Salsa Verde and my husband usually orders from the special of the day menu. At the restaurant the food is served neatly, rice and beans separate from the enchiladas, for example. We decided to order take out and what a disappointment.$32 for these 2 dishes- this was around 8pm on a Monday- it wasn’t a lunch special deal or anything like that. Just takeout dinner on a Monday night. I was so upset when I opened our meal and saw what was served- no side of hot sauce included. The enchiladas are all squished sideways in this small take out container with rice & a pinch of beans. The rice getting all soggy with the sauce- there goes the option of sharing my meal with my toddler, as I always do. My husband’s special of the day dish was, oh man- terrible. I mean- look at it. I started eating Tacos Broncos from their truck and going to the restaurant a few times a month became our norm. I’m not a new customer- I have expectations of a dish I eat each time I go to the restaurant. It should be no different for take out especially if the price is the same as dining in (chips & salsa not included of course). I called the restaurant, told them all of this & the lady who answered said she would let the manager know…..I guess it’s time to try a different Mexican...

For a truly satisfying visit, focusing solely on their well-crafted tacos is advisable. Although the sopes we commenced our meal with were a culinary highlight, our chosen main courses—Steak Fajita and Chilaquiles Verde with steak—proved disappointing.
Regrettably, my side order of tortillas was forgotten, requiring a prolonged wait and futile attempts to catch the attention of the staff stationed behind the counter. The chilaquiles arrived with an overly dense sauce and oily undertones, straying from the anticipated authenticity of flavors. Additionally, the steak was lamentably overcooked, challenging its palatability and bearing an unusual taste profile.
We sought resolution by inquiring about an alternative order or a remake with our waitress. Regrettably, her response conveyed that such actions would entail extra charges—a policy seemingly incongruent with the subpar quality of the dish. The overall service was disappointing, leaving an unfavorable impression that’s hard to reframe positively.
A gesture of goodwill, such as an alternative dish or a discounted price, would have been appreciated, especially considering the $55 cost of the unsatisfying meal. The absence of acknowledgment for our disappointment underscored the...
