Have had various work done by Mas, he can make the roughest fret ends feel as smooth as butter.

Had the update this review after a subpar experience:

I dropped off a guitar on a Monday for getting rough fret ends smoothed out, Mas said it would take a couple days to get it back to me. The next Monday I called and asked him what the status of my guitar was, he said it was "5 guitars away" and he would try to get it done by Wednesday. On Wednesday I came in to drop another guitar for a refret and he said the first guitar would be done on the weekend. Then on the weekend I called him and he said it "might be done on Monday".

I went right in and picked up both guitars. Who knows if the refret would have taken 2 months?

Excellent Work, Great Prices..... I was given a 12 string Taylor for my birthday (pre covid) . I brought it to a Guitar Superstore for a set up. Covid went full blown, the store closed for months and when I picked it up It had been stored improperly causing the brand new neck to warp. I was in Guitar limbo with Taylor blaming the Guitar store and the guitar store trying to rectify the situation. Anyway it took two years and Taylor wound up sending a new neck but not installing it. I went to Jimmy in the Guitar Shop. He straightened out the guitar to better than new condition. I Highly recommend and thank you...

I was so happy to discover The Guitar Shop within walking distance of my apartment in Sunset Park, but if I lived in the Bronx I would make the trek whenever I needed their services because it's a special place. Jimmy does outstanding setup work, minor repairs etc. and has an assortment of hand crafted instruments that I marvel at every time I visit. He has set up multiple basses and guitars for me and my daughter and is always available to make a quick tweak if something needs an adjustment down the road.
