Grandma Bess
Organic san marzano tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, basil, Parmigiano & mozzarella on a thin, square Sicilian crustA tribute to Phil's Grandma, who loved to windowshop on W. 57th St. and dream of escaping her Flatbush walk-up. Alas, it never happened, but we celebrate her spunk and style with fresh flavors of organic San Marzanos and fresh basil on a traditional grandma crust.
The Buckminster
A top-sauce pie featuring marinara sauce, with organic spinach, roasted garlic, parmigiano, provolone & mozzarellaA visionary thinker, designer and teacher, Buckminster Fuller represented the best and most hopeful side of humanity and pioneered a new way of industrial development, trying to do more with less. Please enjoy this simple, yet sumptuous top-sauce pie and consider how we all can be a force of change for the better by reducing our impact on the planet.
Larry Tate
Organic fresh spinach, plum tomatoes & fresh garlic on a white pieWith a shock of white hair and an expression of eternal bewilderment, Larry Tate (actor David White) never even noticed when Darrin (Samantha's husband on Bewitched), was replaced by a different actor midway through their run. His namesake pie is one of the Two Boots 'Holy Trinity,' the original named pies created back in 1992.
Tony Clifton
Wild mushrooms, vidalia onions, sweet red pepper pesto & mozzarellaOn a hot summer day in 1973, 40 Long Island campers gathered under a tree for a local comic to entertain them. A twitchy guy arrived, turned on his tape player, and started lip-syncing to the Mighty Mouse theme song. The kids thought it was weird, but their counselor (future TB Founder Phil) thought it was genius. The comic's name was Andy Kaufman, and his alter-ego would one day be Tony Clifton. (Or was it?)
The Meg
Our very white pie: Provolone, parmigiano, ricotta, mozzarella, roasted garlic & oreganoWe Fell In Love With A Girl around the time of White Blood Cells, and pay homage to the former White Stripes drummer with a very white pie, featuring four cheeses, roasted garlic and oregano. And we're proud the provide pizza to Third Man Records down in Nashville, whenever they need it!

With the closure of Cafe Viva (the only other reliably tasty vegan pizza place) earlier this year Two Boots’s return to the Upper West Side is a huge blessing! Two Boots boasts an assortment of inventive and flavorful pizzas, many of them are already vegan or can be made vegan (you can get vegan SLICES)! You’ve got to try the “V for Vegan” slices (with artichoke hearts and a house made pesto)! My other favorite is the Spin Art: a small little bundle of filo dough filled with what’s basically a vegan spinach-artichoke dip! It’s a perfect small snack or accompaniment to a slice of pizza. Their sauce has a little spice to it which they say is inspired by Louisiana cuisine. Whatever inspired their food is working. Check them out on the west side or their upper east...

I’ve long been a fan of Two Boots and am thrilled that they opened on UWS! Just like the other locations, it has a colorful and fun atmosphere, and the pizza is great, whether with dairy cheese or vegan cheese. The slices are really creative and show an imagination at work that pushes the envelope of what pizza can be. And today I met the owner, Phil, who was working behind the counter and took my order. Later he came outside to talk to customers to see how they were liking it. He truly cares about his pizza! And he said vegan pizza, my reason for going, is important to them. This particular spot has a real local, neighborhood vibe and is such a great addition to the current roster of UWS pizza options. There really is nothing...

The cheese pizza was ok but the v for vegan pizza was bad. It smelled and tasted like stale veggies.

The worst part was the service. I had to catch a show and asked them to give me a box for 2 slices. The guy refused by saying they didn't have any boxes. I could literally see around 50 boxes. I let it go, but then I timed my travel and realized I would have to rush eating if I don't get a box. So I asked again to switch my slices from being stuffed in a brown bag to a box. Now he said the boxes were for delivery. I told him about my show and that I can't eat on the go without a box. The guy said he'll give me a box if I get another slice - to make it a total of 3 slices. Pretty ridiculous...

Two Boots opened their newest location here about six weeks ago, and I finally got the chance to try it. I've only been to the West Village location before this, but the UWS location is officially my fave. I got the Sicilian pepperoni ("Grandpa Pep") and the sausage and peppers ("Cleopatra Jones"), both of which were great. The garlic knots go for 3 with a side of marinara for $3.95, which is a pretty good deal for their size, though they were a bit on the doughy side and could be a little bit crispier in my opinion. I was lucky enough to meet the owner (Phil), who was manning the oven and greeting guests. It's cool to see the hands on approach he takes after 36 years in the business!

Two Boots Pizza is such a fun spot! The pies are loaded with bold flavors and unique topping combos that you don’t usually find at other pizza places. The Cajun spice toppings were my favorite—perfectly seasoned with just the right kick. The crust is thin, fresh, and holds up well without being too heavy. They’ve also got great sides—the garlic knots and sliders were some of the best I’ve had in a while. The vibe is casual and welcoming, and service was quick. Definitely a go-to if you’re craving something different from the usual slice. Highly recommend checking them out—they’ve got multiple locations across the city so it’s super convenient too! 🍕🔥
