In the New York Coffee Scene it’s a strong contender. Their strength is the good roasting, as a coffee lover it hits you upon entry and warms the senses. That being said, I had a cortado and it was a little too harsh and bitter on the palate. I wasn’t to be deterred and went for a little more milk and tried their latte - much better. It just needs a little more milk to blend out of the coarseness. I’d go with 8.0 for the latte. Solid cup!

I am just in Park Slope for the weekend and was struggling to pick a coffee spot. I chose this one on a whim and am so glad I did! Friendly staff, plenty of seating (indoor, outdoor, and a whole lower level I didn’t see till I was leaving!) as well as a little spot on the wall where you could grab a section of the New York Times to browse. Great vibes and coffee all around.

Just stepped in when we passed it bc the coffee smelled very good. The coffee place was trendy and lovely. There was a big room at the back of the shop. it has lots of seats for the customers to bring laptops here to work or meet up with friends. It was much bigger than it looks from the outside The maple latte was great!

My wife and I have been to every coffee shop in Park Slope a number of times...and this is the best. The coffee is great. We have never had a bad drink. And we have had plenty of mediocre to poor coffee at other coffee shops in Park Slope. The staff at Variety is uniformly friendly and polite. Zero attitude. And the friendliness is not the stiff, "forced nice" of someone who has been through a "niceness" training program. Just normal nice people being friendly. Whatever they are getting paid, they deserve more and everyone should leave a nice tip. Finally the Variety facilities have recently been upgraded and are even nicer now. Lots of comfortable seating for those of us who like to work in coffee shops with plenty of room for people on their way to work, students, writers, and whoever walks in. The bathroom is always clean and functioning -- a minor miracle in today's New York City. There must be some smart people running Variety because they have hit the sweet spot of the consistency of a coffee chain with all the personal touches of a local...

Glad I've found a new place to hangout! I prefer the decor, it's really classic, chic and mysterious (a little bit). It's stylish and artistic. The service is absolutely amazing. The staffs are down-to earth and polite, has a college student feel, I loved. The place is great for remote working, studying, drawing and journaling, etc... it has two parts: one is on the street side which is more quiet and focused, like a quiet study area; the other is the backroom which is louder like a community square for conversation. I found the coffee shop brought up a properate public gathering/the so-called "third place" to the...

I go to the Variety Coffee in Park Slope location for two reasons: for the coffee which I think is the best coffee in the city, and their customer service which is excellent. Usually in most coffee shops I find either the coffee is bad or the customer service or both. But in Park Slope branch you get the best of both worlds: delicious coffee and top-notch customer service. I have to make a special mention of Peter who is so awesome always goes above and beyond to ensure patrons are having a great time. He sets the perfect example of professionalism and great...
