I’ve officially found my one stop shop for all my beauty services right in the heart of Park Slope!
I’ve now had the pleasure of having several services done there and loved each and every one of them!
I had my roots touched up my Armani which lasted much longer than my usual grey covering maintenance routine, and he quite possibly gave me the best blowout I’ve ever had.
I had the pleasure of getting my hair cut by THE Michael of Michael Hair Salon. I hadn’t had a hair cut in quite some time so he had his work cut out for him but, I asked Michael what he’d thought was best for my hair and he worked his magic. I left feeling rejuvenated and like a new person. I’ve never gotten so many compliments on a hair cut before. An extra treat was having the service completed in the garden patio, it was such a nice change of pace getting a beauty service done outdoors and enjoy some fresh air.
I’ve had my brows done with Vivian. I usually don’t trust many people with my brows as they’re very thick and unruly, but Vivian did an amazing job and left my brows framing my face perfectly. I also had an Advanced Sculpting facial with Vivian, she asked me what I was looking to achieve before starting the service and addressed all of my skin concerns I had leaving my face clear and glowing.
When I came back for my next facial, I had Maria as my aesthetician. After discussing my skin concerns with her, I decided to add a chemical peel for an extra punch and was not disappointed! Maria checked on how was feeling regarding intensity the entire time and gave me the most amazing facial massage that left my face looking snatched!
Once you’ve stepped into Michael Hair Salon you instantly feel like part of the family. The entire staff is beyond kind and honestly just a really good time. They all had me laughing through all of my appointments and made them that much more enjoyable.
I used to have all of my beauty services done in the city, but no longer! The pricing at Michael Hair Salon is much more affordable and the quality of service is next level. Looking forward to my next...
Read moreI generally never review places nor do I read reviews as such. I tend to go to places try/test/experiment and form my own opinions. What prompted me to write this review was a review done by a person named Leeta Gato, I don't know her, but reading that review made me want to share my experience(s) and let people know that you don't judge places by where they are located or how they may look, that is very shallow. I have been going to this place for over 5-7 years maybe more, they used to be on 7th Ave. So they moved to their current location as the other place raised the rents & they can't just pass the increased costs on to the customers, thats what big corporations do. One reviews places based on the quality of the work done the way the people interact and treat customers etc. If one is to rate some place based on where they are located or what their appearance is then I question the reviewer's ability to discern. I wonder if people base going to eat/get hair cuts etc based on reviews do they read reviews of reviewers to know if they are stupid or pretentious etc. Wake up people, Michaels Hair Salon is a good place to get your hair done, the people are high quality folks, care about that more than...
Read moreThe best judge of any business is how they handle problem situations. Michael himself tonight fixed a major faux pas atop my 55-year-old head -- turning a brassy red highlight job that made me look like a kabuki doll or Ms. Frizzle into pure beauty with a full head of golden and bronze highlights. He literally executed almost a strand-by-strand fix with cotton swabs on each of the brassy red locks. Michael's own staff stood 'round, transfixed, as he made the fix, apologizing by his careful handiwork for the work of one of his own earlier this week. I blame myself for communicating poorly about the color I wanted in the first place. But when I complained several days after the first dye job, Michael took the reins himself and ensured I left tonight a happy client. This is a no-nonsense place with no-nonsense pricing. That said, I was served a delicious cup of green tea by Julia (I believe that's her name), and when Michael needed to turn to another client, a colleague blew out my hair. I applaud Michael for stepping up, not blaming the victim, and caring about me and my hair as much as anyone possibly could....
