Velvette Black — Restaurant in New York

Recently moved to this block and was excited to have a coffee shop close by - our last coffee shop near us in fort greene was a favorite, we went everyday, despite our budget, and were good friends with the staff. I have to say, the staff here are always pretty unfriendly and short with me despite me trying to be nice, and tipping etc. Not a fun way to start the day. Not sure why they take such offense but I always feel extremely unwelcome. I will say they are insanely efficient. Its always busy and packed with people on their laptops, youd think it was a wework. I recently visited Velvette Black and I had a wonderful experience! I ordered an ice latte and a brownie, and they were both absolutely delicious.

What really stood out to me, however, was the atmosphere of the coffee shop. The space was cozy and inviting, with comfortable seating and plenty of natural light. The decor was stylish and modern.

The staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall positive vibe of the place.

I had an appointment right around the corner and needed to kill some time and walked up on Velvette by accident. The space itself is beautiful, big, and has plenty of seating. There's even a patio in the back with a couple tables and umbrellas. Drinks were great! (Ordered 2 dirty chai lattes) The service however, is sadly what stood out the most.
