Food was tipical of a White Castle. Not bad, although a couple of my sandwiches were just kind of thrown together. I also received shrimp that were turned over in my bag as the attendant handed to me. But the service was awful. The attendant have me a lot of attitude with my order, took people in front of me, and had me worried about the food I would receive the whole time. Then, after the attendant made a big fuss about me trying to add food to my order, she almost forgot some food.
I waited at the window trying to get her attention to alert her to the fact that I was missing from food, because I was going to make sure before I left there that I would have anymore issues with this restaurant. She never came to my attention, she just ignore me at the window although I tried to wave her down and beep. I'm guessing it's because she realized her mistake and didn't want to address it. Finally, after waiting at the window for an additional 3 minutes she gave me my fries. She did apologize, very insincerely.
Finally, although I made sure that all my food is there I forgot to look in the bottom of the bag for sauces. Due to the fact that two of the things in my order was fries and fish sandwiches. I would expect to receive at least ketchup and tartar sauce. I didn't receive any sauces or condiments in the bag at all to fulfill my order nor was I asked. Unfortunately, I often rely on them asking because I usually forget to ask for condiments myself. However, due to the fact that I definitely was getting nothing additional, or even any personality from the attendant I wish I realized two request simple condiments or even napkins.
Although this place was convenient, I will not be returning to this location. Initially, I had raided this review two stars, however, after reminiscing and writing this entire review, I decided it was not even worth that. This is my first experience at this location, and it solidified the fact that it will...
Read moreI regret to say that White Castle has some serious flaws. One has to ask for ketchup at the counter because there are no packets where the straws and napkins are. The french fries come in a vertical box that is higher than it is wide, so if you put ketchup on it you're only covering the top view and you have to dig down with your fingers (because there are apparently no forks or utensils of any kind available) to get the of the fries, adding new packets of ketchup along the way. It's very messy. And it's an enormous waste of cardboard to pack each hamburger separately in a little box when you're having the hamburgers at a nearby table. They could be easily put on a plate without the boxes, saving space and leaving less waste. Perhaps the boxes are there to keep each hamburger warm, but they are so small that there's little danger of them cooling off by the time you get to the last one. Finally, you have to signal to someone behind the counter to open the bathroom door for you, which can take a while when nobody notices you. When I finally got into the bathroom I found no soap in the soap dispenser and had to wash my hand with only water, pressing one of those metal buttons that keeps the water running for only a couple of seconds before stopping, so you have to keep hitting it and washing, hitting it and washing, all about soap. As one might surmise from the above description, I felt rather unclean when I left the establishment. And I speak as someone who has always liked White...
Read moreOne star solely because I love sliders.
I’m a life long New Yorker and pretty much visited every location in Queens but this one has to be the absolute slowest. Keep in mind I’ve been to this location (no exaggeration) at least 50 times but tonight’s drive through takes the cake thus I must write this review.
I pulled into drive through and the car ahead just moved so I’m next in line. I was greeted and just as I expected from previous experience, I was told to give them a minute. Well 9 minutes passed and finally I placed my order. From that moment until I actually received my food with only one car in front of me was another 22 minutes. This sets a new record for drive through. C’mon really? 1/2 hour for 7 sliders and a large iced tea? I’m at a loss for words because my 9 year old nephew can move faster.
Owner and management, you need to really sit down and come up with a solution because you’re loosing loyal customers. No matter how good the sliders are, no one is willing to put up with the ludicrously long wait time. How come McDonald’s, Burger King and Wendy’s blocks away can service their customers 10 times faster? I can only assume their staff and owner is more competent. In addition, can I get reimbursed for the fuel which was wasted while spending all that time idling???
No doubt I share the same sentiment as many other reviewers here about the snail pace service and finally given up on this location. I’ll just drive a bit farther to another location and get my...
