TLDR version: I had MAJOR issues with an expensive pair of boots that were too painful to wear and needed to be stretched. I bought some things to try it myself, I took it to a local shoe place... no improvement at all. Steve at Apollo took care of it not problem and I've been wearing the boots for 2 days now.

Longer version: I spent $250 on a great pair of Ecco hiking boots, but when I slipped them on - before I laced them or stood up - I was in genuine pain. Pain, like I had no idea I could get from putting on a shoe! This is how I found out I had arthritis in my big toe and had built up a calcium deposit on the edge of my foot at the base of my big toe - and this was the exact spot where there was a metal eyelet on the boot.

I love Ecco, durable, comfortable and have always fit me well in the past, so I didn't really wanna give up on them... so began a two year saga.

I tried tennis balls and other around the house tricks over and over, I bought "stretching liquid" and a home stretcher on Amazon and used that 4 times until the stretcher broke, then tried the tennis balls again... I brought it to a local shoe repair place and still no improvement. Not just not enough improvement - felt like none at all.

As as last ditch effort I did some Googling on the best places to get a shoe stretched in Queens or Brooklyn and made a short list of 3 places to call. They all said they could do it for a reasonable price... but Steve said he'd do it for me and that if I still had any issues he'd do it a second time at no charge.

I brought them in with little real hope, but when I went back I put them on right there and... they fit. I stood up, I sat down, I laced them up... a little snug, but... they fit with no pain. Amazing. Been wearing them for two days and counting as I continue to break them in.

Apollo did an AMAZING job cleaning a WHITE leather coach bag of mine. I had used the bag one evening and did not notice until at least a week later that someone must have spilled a cranberry-based beverage all over it :) There were splotches of red and pink all over it.... Once I saw this, I took the bag to several different cleaners and shops who all said they were going to charge at least $100 and that they could not guarantee the stain would come out (and even if it did not come out I would still owe them the money...). Not only did Apollo fully restore this bag to mint condition, he was so much more reasonably-priced than the rest. I could tell immediately that he knew what he was doing as he gave me the plan of action to clean the bag. I am so happy he was able to fix up the bag, as I got this white bag to compliment bridal outfits of mine in anticipation for my wedding this year. It means so much that she is cranberry-stain free. Steve at Apollo Comfort Shoes is AMAZING! I have an injury related leg length discrepancy and need to have a custom shoe lift done for it. I’ve searched far and wide throughout Manhattan and the five boroughs until I found Apollo Shoes. Steve is an absolute ARTIST and did an IMPECCABLE job in making my shoes work. (I am trained as an architect so I’m a tough customer to satisfy!) and I can honestly say that I could not be HAPPIER. THEY LOOK LIKE THEY CAME FROM THE ORIGINAL SHOE MANUFACTURER!!! Amazing!!
