Erawan Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in New York

Great food but even that couldn't save the poor customer service.

1. we ordered an appetizer and 3 entrees for two people with two drinks. We were not being cheap.
2. the waitress asked if we wanted all of our food at the same time. I told her I wanted all the entrees at the same time.
3. she didn't bring the appetizer we ordered until the entrees came out.
4. they put us on a corner table with the smallest possible space. If this waitress had at least half a brain, she would've figured out we ordered a lot of food for that small table.
5. instead of figuring out a way to not put all the dishes on our table at once, two waitresses came over, tried to stack them on top of each other and left half of the dishes hanging off the table waiting to fall.
6. I turned and said to her "are you being serious?" Then she finally came back over and tried to fix the mess.
7. not once did anyone come over and ask if we needed water or if anything was wrong with our food or the horrible service.
8. as we were finishing each dish, the waitresses only wanted to take back the empty dishes that were placed toward the hallway, which were convenient for them to reach. They refused to come over to the other side of the table, which was crowded and narrow, forcing me to eat in an uncomfortable seating position throughout the entire meal.
9. I love the food here but I'm never dining again. I will just order it to go or delivery. None of the waitresses deserved any tip for the "service" you provided.

From the moment my guest and I walked into Erawan Thai Cuisine Restaurant, we were captivated by an incredibly friendly and approachable staff, beautiful ambience and outrageously delicious food! It was my friend’s birthday and I wanted to try Erawan because someone I know strongly recommended it because he, his wife and friends go there every Friday night! Every single staff member that we interacted with was genuine, kind, helpful, answered all our questions and offered additional ideas about foods that we might enjoy trying. The food was delicious! We tried the steamed crab dumplings as an appetizer. They were by far the best that I had ever had! We each decided to try the Pad Thai, mine with chicken and my friend’s with shrimp. We both were salivating at how delicious it was. The peanut sauce for the salad was by far one of the best that I’ve ever had! The icing on the cake for this incredible experience was the surprise, that I wasn’t even aware of! The server overheard me wishing my friend a happy birthday. At the end of our meal, the server and several staff members came to our table with an amazingly beautiful and delectable fried ice cream dessert. Everyone sang happy birthday to my friend.
