The cocktails I ordered (Mr. Oolong and Matcha Kappa) are tasteless. Also, they both are offered in a SMALL cup that is definitely much smaller than what you’d expect from a sour or on the rock drink.
Matcha kappa suppose to be a sour, but the foam is extremely thin and there’s no creamy texture that a sour suppose to have. Also the balance of sweet and sour from citrus is not here at all. The matcha component is also barely noticeable. The creator of this drink should go taste some classical sour first before doing a twist.
Mr. Oolong is Cognac based. I cannot taste any cognac. Also apparently have 1 oz oolong tea in it while the total volume of the drink is probably 3oz. The creator of this drink should go learn how to infuse cognac with tea and maybe switch to a more expensive cognac.
The drinks are over priced. In a Rum based drink that is $20+ I saw Malibu. Also while I was talking to the bartender, the waitress interrupted me and asked “do you want another drink or u still...
Read moreWe tried out Wildcard Bar after a fun Saturday evening seeing Hamilton on Broadway and getting other drinks in the area. The bar itself is tucked away upstairs and off the street, and was fun to find. The vibes inside were overall interesting, with a bar in the back and moody, dark lighting throughout. Service was also excellent, with congenial staff and free rice crackers when we sat down. Unfortunately, our party had issues with the main reason we showed up - the cocktails. Frankly, of the 4 cocktails we ordered as a table, none were particularly interesting and 2 were actively disliked. The drinks menu overall was mostly confusing, with whiskey pricing on the higher than appropriate side, and cocktails which were more odd than exciting. Also, none of our drinks were noticeably strong. Cool idea, great staff, nice interior, but a poor...
Read moreGreat ambience and interesting cocktail menu. I had the plum cocktail which tastes very refreshing and light. It's a good option if you don't want an overly sweet drink. The presentation is phenomenonal. The cocktail also comes with a free small plate of Japanese rice cracker snacks. I like the fact that my barista is a charming lady and I think she did a great job with my cocktail. I also like that the music is chill and not too loud, great for conversation and you don't have to yell. They also have a back room with vintage style couches and desks. Overall it's a great hidden gem to grab a drink with friends and chat, go on a date, or even just do a solo drink after a long day. However the cocktail is on the...
