Yummy Yummy — Restaurant in New York

I can't believe this place even has a 3.6. We ordered from them during a 13 hour layover at JFK. I called to place the order but the person answering the phone said that I could only pay cash unless I ordered online. Not too progressive. So I ordered online via Grub Hub because there was no website to order direct. I got a call that one of the items was not available and I could not get a refund for the item according to them because I used Grub Hub so I substituted something I did not want and did not end up eating because it was disgusting. We ordered ma po tofu because we are vegetarian only to discover pieces of meat in it. Wonderful, good job. We also ordered a mediocre at best vegetable lo mein. I am very picky with Chinese food, I have been hearing about yummy yummy for quite a while but only just recently tried it. I ordered shrimp with mixed vegetables, general Tso's chicken, and an order of dim sum. The food is amazing and extremely fresh, The flavor was exceptional. The shrimp were plump and juicy, even the vegetables were cut beautifully They didn't leave on the tough long brown stems of the broccoli like a lot of other places do. It's this attention to detail that sets them apart. Fresh and delicious. So far so good, a lot of restaurants have a problem with consistency, As long as it continues to stay high quality, I will definitely be ordering...

Food was horrible. Tasted like it was reheated in a microwave. Rib tips were incredibly fatty and had a lot of bone compared to other Chinese places I have ordered from, chicken wasn’t made fresh and was very chewy, the rice either wasn’t cooked fully cooked or was reheated in a microwave and finally they are very cheap with their sauce. The container of sauce was only filled halfway. Other places fill the container to the top. In all honesty I feel like they gave me food that was left over from other people and from someone else’s order that might have gotten canceled. If I could give it zero stars I would and I do NOT recommend this...
