Tribos Peri Peri - Newark — Restaurant in Newark

I really like the taste of Tribos peri peri. I used to frequent the JC location, and I'm happy to have found one in Newark after moving here.

This location is relatively new, bigger and with more seating. The concept is similar and the menu is pretty much the same, with chicken, lamb, burgers and pita.

I usually get the All for One tribal platter, it's a great deal with half a chicken, 3 wings, and a side.

My only complaints here, which I hope will be solved over time, are that they open on a very limited schedule (M-F 12-6) and that they don't cook the chicken on demand, but rather by batches.

Therefore, last time I went my chicken was not very warm, and they only brush the sauce after you order, so the flavor isn't as deep in as when they cook it on the grill...

The food is average at least. It was my first time in the place and decor is septic and very militant. The menu is precise but provided options from beef to fish to lamb. The cost was something to question. I paid 13 for a SMALL 1/3LB burger with a side of onion rings (six in total) it appears to be one small onion probably prepared at the location. The burger was flavorless and salty. The onion rings were bland. It was definatley not worth the money. However there were a lot of people coming in..so if your into the appearance of excellence of yuppy cuisine then enjoy. It is a burger King want to be but it will never be. Go eat somewhere else. By the way the employees were friendly courteous and took pride...

It’s rare to fine peri peri chicken places in North NJ. Was very excited to try this place, and it didn’t disappoint. Delicious chicken and peri peri sauce combo to brighten up your day.

I ordered the all dark half chicken that came with three pieces of thigh+leg. It was cooked perfectly, soft and seasoned. The peri peri sauce added another layer of spice and citrus kick to it. Really liked it, wish it had more sauce.

Main dishes don’t come with any side, so had to order the rice separately. Sides range from $4-$5

The food comes out within 5 minutes, super fast. Restaurant is mostly clean with lots of table to dine in. They are popular for take out...
