Tommy's Tavern & Restaurant — Restaurant in Niles Township

I'm not posting to complain but to notify people before they order . Most places that have chicken wings they offer a medium sauce here they didn't I didn't want it tasteless and I didn't want it too hot that's why most have something in between. Chicken wings were cooked okay kind of soggy didn't have any sauce on them taste like butter tried to throughout the rest of 18. Tater tots weren't cooked all the way through Best part of that they had a lot of fresh onions and some cheese they were better than the wings. Celebrating carrots were great service was great I asked the bartender just to what he thought if I wanted medium he said go with the mild I thought that there would be sauce on it like when you order chicken wings not just plain chicken and there was like barely a drop of wing sauce in the bottom of it but it wasn't like coded on the chicken wings so maybe that's what makes it mild. I probably should have gotten the hot which then probably would have been closer to mild if that's the case. Anyways just want people to know because who wants buffalo wings that are tasteless with just greasy that are soggy. Maybe someday I'll try them again put a medium wing sauce and cover your wings...

If I had a choice between coming here or not drinking at all, I would go sober for the night. One of the main male evening bartenders is aggressive and has a temper, and good luck reaching out to managers if you ever have a problem because they have very poor communication. Plenty of rough customers too, I've seen a guy pull out a knife right at the bar, another guy threatening to "air out" another person's car with bullets, and the police had to show up once because a girl was getting assaulted by a patron at the bar. There are plenty of other good bars in the area like Grandpa's Place or B.D.G. This would be a one star review if not for Pete, who's really nice and sympathetic with his patrons. My wife and I stopped in here looking for something to eat while traveling home after a work gig. It was late night, the kitchen was closed. The guy behind the bar, bless his soul, went ahead and fried us up some chicken patties and an order of their fries. It was quick and what he had available due to everything being packed up for the night but the fact that he was willing to go out of his way like that for two strangers who were just passing through speaks VOLUMES to that man's character and the establishment as a whole. Customer service and humanity truly at it's finest. Also, cold drinks and the patrons around us seemed to all be good spirited people also. We will definitely visit again when we are...
