The Good: They have lots of TVs and you can get wings late at night. The Bad: The service is atrocious, the prices outside of specials are mediocre, and seating can get cramped at times. If you're looking for wings and don't have any little ones you'd be better served at competing establishments in the area.
I rarely have a positive experience at this location, but tonight took the cake. We came in on a Sunday right as the UNC vs Kentucky game was wrapping up. As we were coming in one of the waitresses flagged a customer that was exiting down and asked if he meant to leave her no tip. He reached in his wallet and gave her a $1 bill. I wasn't sure what to make of that. We were seated as everyone was funneling out so service should have started trending back up. I got my first drink when a waiter lost his balance and dumped an entire tray of leftover drinks on the floor right behind me. Fortunately, I was wearing shorts and flip flops and took most of the impact on bare skin. The shards of glass that peppered my foot were disconcerting, but none broke the skin. I hope. People at the two tables nearest us got a full blown shower. The poor waiter look mortified and started picking up the shattered beer and wine glasses bare handed. He never apologized to any of the human collateral damage, however. I've been in several situations at other restaurants where someone at the table got accidentally slimed by staff and this is the first time I've never seen anyone try to make it right. The crashing glasses were far louder than ambient noise and several other staff members witnessed it. So, even if the manager didn't hear it, someone should have summoned her/him. The family on one side left pissed off and the group on the other side left what looked like a $0 tip. At that point, the guy from earlier with the $1 tip made sense. It was 15-20 minutes before anyone took our real drink order. I was contemplating taking the family and walking out, but I really had my gut set on wings and the two year old was being uncharacteristically calm. Then a different waitress took our food order because the waiter who took our drink order wasn't assigned to our table. And then a third waitress brought our food and our first and only refill. At one point I left to use the restroom and returned to find a trash can next to my chair and a gnawed chicken bone where my feet were supposed to return to. In the process of cleaning off the $0 tip table, the waitress went a little long on some of the carnage. I tried not to think about the fact that the bone probably splattered my seat before hitting the floor. Disgusting. We spent the last 20 minutes of our meal trying to figure out who and where our waitress was so we could order drink refills. 10 minutes after we were done eating and still looking for a waitress I was ready to estimate how much the bill should be, throw cash on the table, and storm the exit. But, I was worried someone might swipe the cash and it would become a law enforcement matter. She finally stopped by and we settled up on the bill. I was set on giving a tip that was equivalently terrible to the service we received, but my wife said she saw our waitress crying in the bathroom. So, she got a 20% sympathy tip. It was by no means representative of the service we received. There are clearly training issues at this location and having all that extra time to watch the staff I believe there is a morale issue as well. Update 04/28/17: I submitted the survey that was linked to me receipt after my visit. The last question on the survey is if you would like to be contacted by BWW regarding survey responses. I elected yes but have not heard from them despite it being almost a...
Read moreArrived for dinner with a friend on 10-29-2022 for dinner around 400pm. This location at the time was not busy, with 5 other parties inside besides us. We have never had such a bad service before in my life at this location. It took 15 minutes before anyone came to the table to take our order. We placed our drink, appetizer, and dinner order at the same time to ensure we would be out in time for the hockey game down the street. It was another 15 minutes before we received our drinks and two sodas. We then received one part, (cheese curds) not both appetizers five minutes later. No explanation on why the second part (chips and salsa) never came out, our waitress refused to say anything about it. We asked for silverware, she said she would bring some. It never came, we had to eat with our appetizer with bare hands. About another five minutes goes by and our boneless wings show up. We asked again about our other appetizer and she claimed the kitchen staff is behind. If they are behind, then how did we get our main course first? Our main course of wings was ice cold, like they have been sitting out for a long time. They were disgusting. After our wings were delivered, we asked again for silverware. She claimed again she would bring it and never did. We had to ask another server for the silverware, which he did bring to us right away, this waiter apologized to us for her behavior saying she has been an issue today and it was unacceptable. I wish I had gotten his name, because he needs to be praised for providing excellent help and service, even though we were not his table. He also offered us refills on our drinks, and even checked into our missing appetizer. Come to find out she never placed the order for the 2nd item. Our waitress finally came back around 20 minutes after we were finished from eating. From the time she dropped our wings off she never checked in on us, asked us if everything was good, etc. She just stopped by and dropped off the bill. Handed off my card, she brings the receipt. I asked for a pen to sign the credit card portion. She claims I don’t need to sign it. I say yes, I do. I refuse to let her take her portion until I sign it. I finally found a pen, and filled it out. She went ballistic. She threw a major fit and attitude because I signed the credit card receipt. She started to yell at me for signing it, she was so upset I couldn’t make out what she was even saying. I have a strong felling and suspicion by her reaction that your waitress was going to write down her own tip amount and forge my signature on the receipt. I did have this happen at this location, Norfolk VA before 5 years ago with another waiter no longer at this location.
Our receipt shows a time of 5:21pm, our server was listed as Teliyia, and table 102/2 for a total of $23.54
To say this is unacceptable to be treated this way is an understatement. Excessive amount of time to be greeted by our server, only received one appetizer out of 2 ordered, received ice cold main course, no drink re-fills, and what I believe to be an attempt at...
Read moreSo group of friends and I (total of 5) came into BWW’s on a Friday night. We were sat immediately but we first noticed an issue when we realized we were seated for a while with no menus. But of course we figured covid and looked up the menus on the site. I think we were there for a total of 10 minutes before we even seen our waitress. We all ordered drinks and appetizers immediately having decided during our suspiciously long wait. We got our waters in a timely manner but our alcoholic drinks took a while longer than expected and when they did come they were brought out one by one by a food runner. We didn’t care too much because we were really just enjoying ourselves. The appetizers came shorty after that. By this time we noticed that one of the people in our party hadn’t received an appetizer or drink and he was just already frustrated by the experience he decided to just wait and order his entree. And this is where our relaxed evening took a turn. Our food was brought out one by one. Our waitress put in two incorrect food order (we later assumed there was more incorrect order that were place because of her frustration with the ticket) and our second round of drinks were taking an extreme amount of time. The server apologized profusely for the service and explained she had just gotten back from vacation and was rusty. Us being servers and quite young we totally understood and granted her extra patience. But our food never came out all together. It came out in the pace where one person was able to eat there whole meal by the time the next person got there meal. And there was quite a bit of errors that needed to be corrected including the two incorrect sandwich orders, an incorrect wing order and the missing of sides. Trying to be good customers we just asked for the check. The young lady, who i am not blaming at all, took atleast an hour to correct and separate out checks. She explained that her grandmother had passed and this was her first day back and she just was having a bad week. We totally understood but i frustration lies with management. We knew they were aware of the situation and they not once helped her or greeted our table. We watched the manager clearly forgoe helping the young lady with the checks while also dodging our table even when we attempted to get his attention. We ended up having to write out each of our orders so she could properly separate the checks. We were also disgusted to see the other staff men ever, aside from the young ladies sister, not attempt to help. There was even a young lady walking around with her headphones on talking on facetime in the middle of the restaurant, I’m confused as to why she didn’t step into help seeing as she was on the clock and pretending to buss tables. We ended up tipping the girl decent because we understood but we were disgusted with the staff for letting that young lady drown. Shows great team work… I guess. 0/10 experience. And the...
