This is my first time visiting ramen noodles, we are supposed to select the broth type, there are four kinds in it Plain Shoyu, Shoyu Miso, Chicken Shoyu, Tonkotsu Shoyu from the above I can either select mild or spicy for the spice level. I have ordered Chicken Shoyu.
Tonkotsu Shoyu, it pork based broth therefore, I did not select it. Shoyu Miso, I do not what Shoyu Miso, I didn’t mind asking as I was more inclined to try Chicken Shoyu. Plain Shoyu, I do not think it will be any different from the Chicken Shoyu.
Coming to the protein, I went with Chicken Chashu because I am a chicken person.
The meal was so good, I really liked the flavour of the broth, It is really good when it’s served hot. Ingredients, I went with everything since, It was my first time. Bamboo shoots were really good, I could see corn, beans, onions, omelette, scallions. I had no idea about seaweed and wood ear however, I liked everything I eat. I wouldn’t say I had Omelette, it was an egg cut into two pieces they have mildly roasted egg yolk after they cut it into two half. Noodles are wheat based, they were thin and long, they were really good, I like them more when I compare them with the rice noodles. Overall, the broth with the noodles is so good, I loved it so much, it reached my expectations, I was able to savor the flavour and serving it hot made it exotic.
Specialty Drinks I have ordered Mango funtime, it a green tea made with fresh mangoes and mango jelly, we can select the sweetness levels I went with 50% sweetness and added mango flavour to it, there are many other flavours you could try. I didn’t choose any toppings as they were charged 0.50$ cents each. Later I regretted with that decision when I saw others adding the toppings, different colors were added to the drink which made the drink so unique and alluring. Fresh mangos were floating at the top of the drink, I had all of them once the liquid is over.
As I had an expectation of how ramen noodles would be I was not really excited by looking at the food, but the green tea made my day, I was delighted with the drink. However, since, the drink was sweet and cold, I didn’t enjoy it with the broth, cause’ later was more of hot and spicy. Therefore, I relished the drink after having the broth. Do not forget to order the drink it were unique...
Read moreThe food was alright, but not worth the money or the struggle to get it. Don't order more than one appetizer if you're picking up for take out!! It's not allowed!
I went there today around 7pm. I made two orders of takoyaki and a ramen.
A poor employee comes out about five minutes later, with his boss about ten feet behind him watching what's about to go on. This kid is holding money in his hands and tells me the menu is wrong and the apps are now $2 more, and that you're only allowed to have one per person.
My brain broke a little bit, because I was picking up the takoyaki for someone else, and some of the ramen was for me. I asked if I wasn't allowed to have my second order, because I spent $25 on this. The owner (I guess, he wouldn't speak to me) beckons the boy over and the boy says they will have to make a new order because it isn't ready. That's fine with me, I know how long it takes to make it.
I get my food about five minutes after this, and check it to see a full order of takoyaki missing, so I let the cashier know. She tells me it isn't missing, counts my food in front of me, then returns to the back without and further apology or anything, having just implied I was either stupid or a liar.
They end up sending this boy back out with the remainder of my order, and he is mortified to be in the situation at all. He is the reason I give more than one star, honestly.
The egg in my ramen was amazing, but the noodles were sticky, unappealing, and rubbery. My takoyaki was over breaded and rather burned, and honestly I just felt bad that they had to make another order, but I hadn't come in right before close or anything so I don't understand why it was such a big deal to make them. It didn't take very long, honestly. I would have just accepted it if they said they were out, but they told me I wasn't allowed to order more???
Sadly, I will never go back. I guess they got their wish, they won't have to make me...
Read moreI personally will never return, at least not to the Norfolk store next to MacArthur Center and this is why. I initially went to the Suffolk one, which I didn't realize was temporary closed as it was never indicated on their website. I made the trip to the Norfolk one after, but I was disgusted after going into the store. The lady at the front had her mask off and was on her phone before I entered, which is 100% understandable as there were no customers. She immediately placed her mask back on when I entered. I ordered a poke bowl and a drink. She never wore gloves for the ENTIRE time making my poke bowl. She never physically touched the food but her hands touched the inside of the cap and bowl. And she didn't wash her hands thoroughly from using her phone and taking the order from the screen to making the bowl. When she made the drink, it was all scooped into the cup, which I was fine with UNTIL she used her hands to rip (I'm assuming a sticker off the sliced lemon) before placing it in my cup. I was disgusted. I told her she needs to wear gloves and make me a new one. She was confused and thought I didn't want lemon or wanted a different slice and showed me another slice of lemon with partial sticker on it. I was disgusted at this point and wanted to leave and get a refund but honestly, I didn't want to be rude. She eventually made me a new drink and I told her no lemons to prevent the same thing from happening. Regardless, she had no gloves on and her hands still touched parts of the cup where I'd be drinking out of. The food, however, was very good and fresh but I'd personally never return to this store. Its a no brainier to wear gloves while handling food even prior to COVID. I hope that if you do order from this store, that you're there to ensure proper conditions as they prepare your order. I hope this establishment takes action regarding the...
