I saw someone on my timeline get this Oxtail Cheesesteak right!! I had to have it!! Only thing…it’s in Norfolk Virginia. Well…i filled the Hemi up, & took the flight (I drove y’all…it’s a pun). They’re Jerk Salmon Phillie (20 inches with Jerk Salmon, curry garlic mayo, pepper Jack, onions, & pepper relish $23.99). LIKE THAT!! Plentiful, well seasoned, the curry garlic Mayo & Jack cheese set this off!!

Their Jerk Chicken Cheesesteak (20 inches with red peppers, grilled onions, & mayo $21.99). STAMP!! Perfectly seasoned, spicy, & juicy!!

Their Oxtail Cheesesteak (11 inches with pepper Jack, mozzarella, grilled onions, sweet & hot peppers $25). STAMP!! Surprisingly meaty, less fat, well marinated, the cheeses worked well…GET THIS!!

Their Egg Rolls Their Cheesesteak Eggrolls (2 of them for $9). The Cheesesteak Egg Roll…DELICIOUS!! Crispy, & meaty, I needed a tad bit more flavor.

Their Seafood Egg Roll (with salmon, shrimp, & onions $7). DELICIOUS. Tasty, but again I needed a tad bit more flavor.

Their Krabby Fries (with crab meat on top of Old Bay seasoned fries, & spicy whiz $10). LIKE THAT!! They stayed crispy, meaty, & the whiz surprisingly blended well!

Their Peach, Passion Fruit, & Strawberry Lemonades ($3.49 each). STAMP the Passionfruit!! Refreshing, & thirst quenching. The Peach, & Strawberry LIKE THAT!! Tasty, & fresh!! . So second time here. First was part of a Yelp Elite experience so that was separate. This place rocks! Chef Alan takes a classic Philly cheesesteak concept and transforms it into all kinds of different delicious sections. Today we had the chicken Philly fries, jerk chicken tacos (yes at a Philly steak joint!) and the philly chicken eggrolls. The fries- LOADED with Philly chicken meat, cheese sauce, onions green peppers and whatever amazing sauce they added. My son wanted banana peppers too. So I've had Philly chicken meat before and it's usually a disappointing chunk of meat. I'm not sure what magic Chef Alan uses but this chicken has the same consistency as you'd expect from Philly steak meat. Very think and just perfect! The tacos- delicious strips of grilled jerk chicken, not dry not too over the top spicy! Some pineapple and I think mango? in the garnish with some delicious sauce! Didn't need anything else on top! Just amazing! The eggroll- not your chinese spot take out eggroll. This was like a mini burrito. Again the meat was splendid, flavor profile was legit like taking a bite out of a juicy delicious philly chicken cheesesteak but wrapped in a perfect eggroll shell. Amazingness! If you're not sure what to order just ask. Chef Alan will most likely be there and happy to offer suggestions! We'll be back to try some more deliciousness soon! Oh and last note...the silverware...it's plastic ware BUT Chef Alan even took this into account. It's not the cheap kind you get that breaks when you try to take a bite and ruins the entire experience! Solid! You can tell he thought of every aspect of the food and the service! I'd give this place 6 out of 5 stars all day! May 9 2022 update Had the entire family today. Jerk chicken tacos, major Philly, garlic Parm fries and chicken tenders. I'm always on the look-out for a Philly cheesesteak without going Philadelphia. I've always wanted to go to Philly, but with all of the videos I'd seen on youtube, the cheesesteak places all seem to have 1-inch sized square onions. When your onions are bigger in size and taste of the cheesesteak itself, it can't be good. I'm just sayin' that I won't drive 6 hours to a tourist spot to have huge bites of onions. I can get onion rings anywhere.

I didn't know Major Phillie Cheesesteaks existed until my misadventure to a recently closed Philly Cheesesteak Cafe in Portsmouth. I didn't find out about Major Phillie until today which was a day after it's 1st year anniversary by which yesterday, they were giving out free cheesesteaks from 12-2pm. I missed that! So I knew today I had to take a chance and I did.

The place is on the corner of Granby Street and Freemason Ave. Sundays you can park for free in some spots. That's a local thing, if you didn't know or are from here.

I'd wanted the cheesesteak to be as close to Philly as I could get, so I'd ordered it (the 11")with cheese wiz. My first one came with provolone which was really good too. Yes, I went back, because it was really good. I came back and went inside and ordered a Major Phillie which was a 22" with mushrooms and cheese wiz. This one was really good too! So now I have 2 cheesesteak places in Norfolk and one in Virginia Beach. But to know which ones are open on which days, leaves me choices for all days of the week! Win WIN! So Sundays may be my DT Norfolk cheesesteak days thanks to Major Phillie!
