Eh. It's okay. The room is spacious l, but not the cleanest. The sheets were clean and the bed is comfy. The ac is very loud and makes unusual noises. (compared to every other hotel I've stayed at) I'm not sure why they chose to put this noisy ac in the bedroom? Odd choice. [Edit: the noise of the ac in the room may have actually helped me sleep, but only if you keep it on instead of on auto] The chair in the main room had lots of stains so I chose not to sit on it or put anything on it. I imagine the couch probably isn't much cleaner, but it's a darker color so you can't see the stains. I'm glad they have blackout curtains. (believe it or not, some hotels don't) I do appreciate the 12pm checkout. There was a lady tweaking in the hallway and a few hours later is now sleeping in the hallway! The parking.... this is the only hotel I've ever had to pay to park at! They say it's a third party company. Leave it to a corporation to have a third party involved so they don't have to take responsibility for it. Clever. I bet they make a killing off this parking situation. They said it's $12 a night. They don't mention it when you book the room, when you check in, or anything. Luckily I chose to read the signs. Every sign I usually see in a hilton hotel parking lot says diamond members only, but I saw a lot of signs so decided to read one and it's a qr code to pay for parking! Wild. Wonder what would have happened if I didn't read the sign. Would they have towed my car? I would have been livid!!!!! They really should mention this during check in, at least. For the parking situation alone... I won't be coming back here ever again. I like Hilton and I like Double Tree, but I do not like the sketchiness of this location and how they don't mention the parking situation. Feels like they want to get you by surprise. Makes sense though. If they actually advertised this... they'd have far less business. And to whomever at Double Tree writes a response about contacting them directly to make this right... Unless you're going to pay me back for parking... don't bother!!!!! Edit: I'm not a morning person so I dont usually wake up for hotel breakfast. Well I did today... they dont have continental breakfast here.... just Starbucks that you have to pay for! 🤣 So you have to pay to stay here, to park here, and to eat here. I'm surprised they don't send you a water and electric bill too. SMH. Def never coming back. Dropped my overall rating from 3 stars to 2. Edit: No late check outs... so dropped from 2 stars to 1 lol. This...
Read moreI had an INCREDIBLE experience leading an event at this hotel. We were there for a leadership training that I was facilitating. ||The event team took care of us spectacularly well. Each person I interacted with was better than the next!! I'd specifically like to call out Jermaine (maintenance), Renee (food & bev), Ashley (group / event contact), and David (A/V, food & bev). They were available to handle ALL of my requests with ease, care, humor, and a genuine desire to make sure we had a wonderful experience. ||I could go on and on. Ashley checked in several times to make sure the meeting room was just right. I could feel how much she cares about the work she does. The boxed lunch was not your standard box lunch. I had a turkey BLT that was on freshly toasted bread, piled high, and made with love. Renee popped in to ask about fresh coffee, and I asked for a new pot right after lunch when everyone hits the mid-day slump :) She showed up right on time with the coffee, and smile, and lots of personality. There was a buzzing lightbulb in the meeting room the day prior when I was setting up, and Jermaine came back twice and didn’t leave until he sorted it out. David was a pro with all my A/V questions/needs, and was one of the masters behind the scenes putting together our incredible breakfast and lunches. And as a result, everything in our space was so well taken care of that I could just focus on the participants experience. ||I know most people reading this are probably looking to hear about the condition of the hotel itself- it was impeccable. Everything from warm cookies at check-in, to clean and well appointed rooms, to Starbucks in the lobby. But the real stand-out from this trip that makes this property memorable was the PEOPLE. They care so much, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy working here. I plan to be back!!! Thank you David, Ashley, Renee, and Jermaine. You lived up to every bit of Southern hospitality that people said I’d experience on my trip...
Read moreI am aggravated to say the least I stay at Hilton hotels every other week for a week I am training two new employees this week and had dinner and drinks at restaurant downstairs. Immediately upon arrival we were met with attitude our food all came out but one guys and he didn’t care to check on it untill the rest of us were done and it was convenient for him. One of our guys never even recieved his first drink untill our food arrived. The worst part about it was trying to make his life easier by telling him Maxwell he could go ahead and bring me another drink at his convenience because we understood he was busy at the moment he still ignored us and waited till we had to ask again and again for a drink Maxwell so at the end I told him to bring me a bill I pay my guys 50 a day in perdiem my bill for everything was 320 somthing I told him run my company card for 100 and I’d take care of the rest he rolls his eyes takes my card brings it back with a credit card receipt for 99.31 I said okay I need a copy of the receipt for my records and also the total bill receipt for my records he said he already gave it to me (which was his copy to sign with tip) I said I understand that I don’t need change im paying cash I need Maxwell a receipt he then proceeds to talk down to me telling me he gave me both receipts that I didn’t know what I was talking about . Then says he hasn’t run my card when I showed him he did for 99.31 so calmly told him you ran my card I need a total receipt and a card receipt he laughs at me and says he already gave it to me then realizes he “never charged my card” and needed it again which makes no sense cause I’m showing him the charge I just wanted a receipt so I could leave Maxwell so the kicker is then my employee goes down to get blankets for the bed and listens to this waiter talking shit to another customer that I didn’t know what I was talking about etc this is absolutely disgusting for a Hilton and I’d expect someone to reach out and...
