Crave — Restaurant in North Dakota

Friday night my husband and I got takeout from here for the first time. I have multiple food allergies, but this restaurant should cater to them, which is why I ordered from the vegan menu. I had a severe allergic reaction, so I sent them a message letting them know there was more than likely cross contamination. Someone messaged me today saying "I apologize about the other night. Gluten free bread has eggs and dairy. If you stick with our Gluten free noodles you'll be safe." I responded, "I didn't have the bread. I had the noodles." The person I was emailing responded, "Well shoot. I'll need to do some staff training meeting again".

I appreciate saying they were going to re-train, but I feel offended that the initial response was that I'm at fault. Especially because she didn't double check to confirm my order that night. Me, someone with multiple food allergies, someone who does thorough research into the menu whenever I do decide to eat out, is being accused of not looking at their allergen menu first and double checking when ordering that my food was made allergen friendly. I'm writing this post, because I want to let other people with food allergies know to be very careful when eating from here. First the good, the cookies were really good. I ate a lot of them while waiting. The portion size noodle wise was pretty good too and the noodles were not over cooked. The sauce was a little plain but still good. That's about all the really good I can say. The poor staff was completely overwhelmed and didn't seem to have a lot of direction but they were trying their best. I got the phily bowl and it was OK but there wasn't enough sauce. There were exactly 3 pieces of short rib and very few mushrooms that were still mostly raw, as were the onions. Maybe it's someone's cup of tea to have raw mushrooms & onions in their mac but it's not mine. The other person with me got the blt grilled cheese and the bacon was fatty and rubbery, the sandwich itself was pretty plain. On a whole I'm willing to give the place another chance on a slower night but I was disappointed with our meal. Have eaten here twice. Found the food good but a bit overpriced. The sides are not worth ordering in my opinion. They are almost nonexistent and the tater tots and deep fried Mac and cheese balls were tasteless. The service was also bad. The 1st time they were really slow. The 2nd time the checkout girl seemed to think orders could only be rang up in order. After paying for our order my friend asked if she could purchase a cup of cookies and a soda (we did not expect her to void our order and add it to the original just an outright purchase) she threw her hands up in the air and said she would have to ring up the next customer 1st. Neither of our orders were up and they said it was fine to finish our order. Then they added items and again she did not appear capable of handling it. We left without the extra items.
