Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in North Huntingdon Township

Ok so I am one of those people that will take what I get and not complain. But last night was one of the worst dinning in experiences ever. And this is the 3rd time going to this Applebee's and EVERYTIME it's been horrible! We get there at 6:40 no wait, (5 in our family, 2 adults 3 kids) seated right away. Cool. Waitress comes up we order drinks and appetizer. Ask for time to figure out what we want. The waitress was nice and looked super busy so I felt bad and kept making excuses for her because I know what it's like to be in that situation. Well we order 3 kids meals and 2 entrees. We wait close to an hour for our food, again I make excuses for them that they r super busy (even though we had gotten seated right away) ONLY ME AND MY HUSBANDS FOOD COME! I tell the runner "hey we r missing 3 kids meals" he says "o yea they r back there they will be right out." 5-10mins goes by. My waitress comes and says "did the kids have food" ummmm yea?? They should, dude said it would be right out. She said "I'm so sorry I put their meals in first so they would be out here first" (doesn't make sense since ur kid meals are literally Kraft Mac and cheese chicken tenders and a frozen pizza but ok?) 10 more mins, my kids plates come out, no sides. I say to this new runner "hey they are supposed to have yogurt and applesauce." That girl walks away, waitress comes back I say hey we r missing their sides which she replies " I'm sorry I just went back there and no one is paying attention back there or even running anything " (shouldn't make excuses and blame others but again...ok) So then she comes back with 2 yogurts.....no applesauce, my one son hates yogurt. But she had walked away before we even realized what happened, so I had to tell my son I'll get him applesauce when we get home just to get him to hurry up and eat because we were so ready to be out of there. When she comes back I ask for 2 box's , 15 mins later she comes back with no box's and ask me if I want a box...I look at her nicely like we didn't just have this Convo and said "yes two please." (At this point it's comical ) She comes back with four. Ok cool. Whatever. I told my husband just to take the kids to the car while I pay. He goes out. I try to use their tablet to pay, I had a $25 gift card (whole receipt comes out to about $80) I try to pay it wouldn't let me, I back out and now it won't even let me hit the pay button. I ask her about it. She said I'll just take it, and walks away with my credit card and gift card. I SAT AT THE TABLE WATCHING HER AT THE BAR FLIRTING WITH A DUDE FOR TEN MINS. SHE TRIED THE GIFT CARD TWICE AND CONTINUED TO SIT AND TALK AND FLIRT! At this point I made enough excuses for this all over horrible service from EVERYONE. I go up to the hostess and say "she's been standing at the bar for ten mins with my credit card flirting with this guy can I just get my card and leave" I watch the hostess walk up to her, the waitress then screams acrossed the whole restaurant "the card is not working" (super embarrassing, u could have gotten a manager or someone who knows how to do their job help u but u were to busy flirting. OR quietly come up to me to let me know there is a problem with YOUR GIFT CARD!) So I walk to the bar (yes I had to go to her) and by that time a manager came. She got to get the gift card to work THE FIRST TIME TRYING! U KNOW I STILL LEFT THIS GIRL A $5 TIP which her nor anyone in that building deserves! Poor management for letting it get this bad and not knowing whats happening in ur restaurant! The food was crap and there was not one happy face leaving that restaurant last night. I heard over the long period of time I was there any food brought out was missing something, or boxes were never brought out. O and I forgot to mention being charged for the game my kids played for two seconds when there was NOTHING saying u had to pay for them. Poor management, poor waitress skills poor runner skills. All over poor experience and would NEVER recommend.sorry so long but it was a long...

I’m gonna rate this a good 3/5. I gave this rate because I took my wife and children to eat here tonight and didn’t have such a pleasant experience.

It started as we were walking in the door approaching the desk to be seated. An extremely nice elderly lady greeted us and was about to seat us towards the middle until this young rude female interrupts her and say no they can sit here, a booth right at the door with the cold air constantly blowing in. Immediately me and my fiancé are startled at what just took place. She proceeded to try and make us sit directly at the door but we refused and asked could we get the seat that the nice elderly lady was giving to us. The woman made a really big deal about it and simply moved us one more booth up. So now we are two seats away from the door versus the one seat. Okkkkkk. Next

The waitress we got tonight was extremely annoying. I understand good customer service , but I also understand harassment and bullying, in a friendly passive aggressive manner. She wouldn’t give us a chance to get settled in or even look at the menu before she started asking questions. The third time she came back, I straight up told her please leave us alone and give us a chance to get our order together. 🙄

OUR FOOD!!!!

My two daughter’s food was ok. My oldest had simple tenders and fries. My youngest had a steak meal. Their food was great!

Okkkkkk!!!……… horrible is an understatement!!! 🥴

Me and my fiance on the other hand, I ordered the simple platter with mozzarella sticks, quesadillas, and buffalo chicken bites. My fiancé ordered one of the irresisti-Bowls. Our food was horrible. Her shrimp look like it had been sitting in the open all day long and they were dried out and nasty! My platter, my simple platter should have been the one thing that was correct and fresh, but here we are! My spinach dip was burnt, my buffalo chicken bites were extremely hard, and the mozzarella sticks were cold. It’s like they threw a string cheese inside of it and called it a real mozzarella stick. I didn’t even have the energy to get a manger and complain. We just wrapped the food up, paid and left. We DEFINITELY will NOT be back. I’m not sure if I can even be convinced to come back. 🤷🏾‍♀️

My dad and I decided to go to Applebee's for that $10 hamburger fries and a drink special. I've never been to this Applebee's, in general I've not really been an Applebee's person but I figured what the hell.

We sst at the bar and I had a good view of the layout of the place, which is very nice, lots of colors and there's a big Steelers mural on one wall, which really suits the place.

The bartender, Kayla, immediately asked us if we would like a drink. So I was sitting there and I happened to be close to where the beverages were served and Kayla was interacting with a couple of the waitresses. I heard someone say the phrase okie dokie. I found that to be funny and made comments about the use of that old school phrase. It was great we had a back and forth between Kayla and I using okie dokie for much of the night, lol.

Once we placed the order I found out that I could have a medium rare hamburger. When the food arrived I wasn't disappointed, it was cooked to order, a perfect medium rare hamburger. The burger was generous in its size and the quality of the meat was juicy and savory. I would recommend this meal to anybody. It is economic and you get unlimited fries. Honestly I didn't even get a second order of fries, the hamburger was so big!
