Very unfortunate last experience.
After being a regular visitor for the last 3 few years, I rolled the dice on ordering a cake with them for a very special gender reveal party. The cake was ordered and paid for on Tuesday for a Saturday event. All details were provided of the pink frosting to reveal it's a girl. The event begins at noon so I requested to pick it up at 10:00 am when ordering. Also to mention, I am the host and have other people at the venue waiting for me as the caterer is there, the helpers are at the venue, etc. It is only this cake holding me up. I get a text at 9:28 am stating it is running an hour behind sorry.
At this point it is not ideal, but we are still good because the venue is 10 minutes away from the bakery. I continue putting everything together for the event at the venue and run back out to get this cake at 11:00 am on the dot. No one has any idea where the cake is or what is happening. I am brought out a graduation cake from the back and told this is back there. I again ask for my cake. I wait 20 minutes with no one telling me anything then leave, because again, I am the host of this event taking place in less than an hour. I now need to pivot to find another way to reveal the gender because it is clear... something is wrong and they are completely unorganized.
I get a call as I am pulling back into the venue that the owner, Jenny will drop the cake off, hence 2 stars - one for taste of cake and the design being as pictured and one for some type of effort I guess you can say at the 12th hour.
But, oh by the way, "we forgot to put the gender reveal color inside and can add sprinkles to fall out in the center". No! Not what we requested; cream cheese pink colored filling was agreed on.
Then the guest goes to cut open the cake during the event, and melted/ wet cardboard is just wedged and jammed and breaking apart IN the cake and knife, as that is what they used to separate the layers. I have never been so utterly embarrassed. For the pieces of cake that we did not have to butcher around the cardboard inside and lose, the guests stated tasted really good. But wow... the experience, and the after photo of just wet cardboard box paper just mangled with cake....
Read moreUnsanitary Practice. Health Code violation. ON Wed Oct. 2. I attend a breakfast with cops event. A staff member was unprofessional and should not work in hospitality let a lone an establishment where there is food. Staff member actually took from two residents mini stuff scramble egg sandwiches they had gotten. The residents took two each and she went to the table and said it was per person. There was a tray of pastries and of the mini sandwiches for those attending the event to enjoy. That is what the posting on social media had said. By her taking the items back and adding them back to the original tray is a health code violation. The item was a health code violation. The staff member could have made them aware its one per person and not taken back the item even it was touch with tongs. I saw the same staff member tell an older gentleman that is a retire fireman that is only one person and I thought that was wrong. I made a comment to the two residents and they told me what happened to them. Upon learning of the situation I did go to get a second item and was told by the staff member it was one per person that she didnt know how many more people where going to come. I did say do you want me to ask the officer if its ok if I get a second one? Towards the end of the event I saw them offering their paying clients free pastry which is fine. They took the tray with the left over scramble eggs mini sandwiches to the back and left the tray with pastries in the front. I did see her take out a empty box which I thought she was going to put the left over pastries in their and give it to the officer but she didnt. The remaining four of us did get up to leave I did turn to the staff member and said you "you had left overs" she replied I didnt know how many people were going to show up. To me that is no excuse to take food back from people, its unhygienic and violation of health code. I do hope no more events are hosted in this location. What a shame. I did referred this establishment to a colleague about 3 weeks ago or so to look into ordering for an event and she said...
Read moreThis is the WORST place to choice your wedding cake!!!! Total disappointment !! We ordered a cake for our wedding on November last year and we had a TERRIBLE experience with them !!! DON’ T MAKE BUSSINES WITH THEM if you don’t want to have the worst experience in one of the most important days of your life!
The following are some of the issues with our cake:
We didn’t get the cake that we had order. We went there three times to taste the flavors and we wanted a Key lime filling, the women in charge to take the order told us that it is not a traditional filling for a wedding cake and she told us to change it for a sweet filling, but we were very specific with our cake, we told her that we wanted a Key lime filling flavor even if it is not a traditional one!!! I don’t like the sweet flavors and we didn’t want any tradional cake! They agree to make a cake with key lime filling flavor and guess what happened ... In our wedding they send us the cake with a different filling flavor a sweet one instead of the Key lime that we had ordered and paid !!! The filling was to sweet!! Unfortunately we noticed that at the time that we were eating the cake in the middle of our reception! It was very frustrating experience !!!! I wanted to cry in my day!!!
The customer service is terrible, the women in charge to take the order was so rude and they didn't care if the customer was happy and have received the right product.
We ordered a semi-naked cake and they send us a cake that looks more white...
