Dick's Last Resort - Myrtle Beach — Restaurant in North Myrtle Beach

I was so excited to try this place out while being in Myrtle beach for my birthday. Got on the waitlist right away and was told an hour wait. We got seated within 35 min. Yay. We sat down and waited for our server to come to us. No one ever came to us for an hour. At first my friends and I thought it was part of the act. We stopped another server named Anthony to ask if we had a server. He walked away and came back and said he will take our order and drinks and bring it to who was supposed to be our server. Our “initial” server came back and said she couldn’t read any of his handwriting even though it was so clear and we could read everything. Anthony brought our drinks out and asked if we needed anything else. We said no. Our food came out so fast yet they forgot my meal. I told our server that was the girl and she just walked away. She came back 10 min later with my food and it was freezing cold. At this point we have been here for 2.5 hours. She never once checked on how our food was and if we needed anything else. Yes I understand the theme of this restaurant but seeing her go to every other table every few minutes made us mad. Anthony kept coming back and talking to us while he had other tables. He told us that he would have taken us but he was slammed and that night was not a good night. He got a 10$ tip on a 500$ bill. We felt terrible. We ended up tipping him for him just taking our order and making us feel special while our “initial server” never talked to us. With that being said we will not be back, and I give applause to Anthony for the amazing hard work, running around he was doing and decided to help a table even though...

Ryan M made mine and my friends’ first experience SO fun! we were all a little nervous cause we didn’t really know what to expect and my friends have a baby under 2 and was worried about her being messed with but as soon as Ryan greeted us he gauged where we were at and asked if we wanted him to leave the baby alone.

the drinks were great, food was great, and even though there were straws and napkins all over the floor, i didn’t see any food or liquids meaning they do actually keep the place really clean! it’s a great place to go for those who enjoy being unserious every now and then.

the only downside was one of the food runners (brunette white girl, possibly late 20s early 30s, hair in a gold claw clip, blue shirt w/sleeves rolled, black shorts, was working Mon night) yelled at the baby to stop crying across 2 tables. looking directly at the baby not directing anything to the parents. extremely poor judgement when 1. it’s not your table and you don’t know the comfort level of the baby being involved in the game 2. babies don’t have the option to really consent to being there or playing the game let alone understand the game or why a random lady is yelling at them 3. she said it directly to the baby when she could’ve said something snarky to the parents instead. idk i just feel that this type of game requires careful tact with kids so the servers should handle interactions with the kids unless the other employees know for sure kids at certain tables are playing.

We have talked about going to a Dick's Last Resort on many of our vacations but this was out first. We went about 530pm as we knew they wait would have been very long if we went later. At this time the parking was already difficult. This may be because of all the other things in this area but they do ha e their own parking. The wait was only about 15 minutes. We did have to be seated outside, which was a little warm but too bad. So if you are looking for a place to stay cool ask for inside. The folks that were at the other end of the table said we won't get the full experience being outside. I guess we will need to go back to see what we missed. Our server was not as into his job as the server at the table next to us. He did ask the age of our son and two girls at the table. They did try to make the hats age appropriate. The hats were outstanding. You have to read everyone's hats around you also. Our food came and to my surprise it was very good. I would return for the food without the funny atmosphere. My son had the bucket of wings. Great price and a ton of wings. My wife got the chicken fried chicken. Good portion, juicy chicken and great gravy. I got the ribs and wings. The garlic parmesan wings were great. I would get the bucket of those next time. The ribs were good but came out cold. It was a fun experience with the family. As a group it would be hilarious.
